Front nine was like playing in a cow field. Back nine nice but tee boxes, well no tee boxes just dirt. the course is dangerous in its layout as two many holes cross over each other and people can get hit off the tee or next shot. not recommended for good golfers or new golfers. overprized for the condition.
Disappointing Round
This Golf North course is very disappointing. The round was way too long...too many golfers. The marshalls were no where to be seen. We had to skip a foursome who were 2 holes behind a group. Tee boxes were almost bare and hardly watered. Not too many changes to the quality of the course considering it was bought by a fairly reputable company....Golf North. Would not recommend this course.
needs marshals
the course is straight forward, the biggest issue is the pace of play is ridiculously slow. Otherwise mind the mosquitoes and its an easy enjoyable course
Does anyone care?
Very slow round. Garbage cans overflowing in front of the clubhouse. No staff care enough to empty it. No sprinklers... Fairways like rock even after the wet winter we had. Patchy greens. No cart girl on a Sunday due to broken ice machine. No one seems care about much there. Won't be back... What do u want for $35 with a cart on Sunday at 1pm I guess? If you don't play much then it's cheap and the course is full of hackers, so you'll be right at home. If want to play a nice course and care what your score is, then go somewhere else... Oh yeah... Turkey sandwich had 1 slice of turkey and a piece of lettuce on it. No condiments almost $6. Worst sandwich I've ever had. Hands down...
Poor conditions but....
Course in bad shape but likely a result of hard winter and wet spring. Rough not cut, green very slow and bumpy, some sparse fairways and some quirky hole layouts. But at the discounted price it was a fair deal. Was told by others at course not to bother buying coffee, as it was very bad. Maybe they should look into that. Could have used a warm drink the day we played.
Try another course
We had to quit after 5 hours and just thirteen holes.
The club is allowing walk-ins and does give a warning of slow play caused by these double bookings. Unfortunately this is only indicated on the pro shop desk when checking in. A little late. These fees with Golfnow are non-refundable.
Fun course
I love my home course, unfortunately it tends to flood during heavy rain , as was the case this day. They had to close the course.
Good value with golfnow
The course did have lots of winter kill damage on fairways and tees with some on greens. Course was challenging from blue tees greens were slow. Vey cool and wet on this day.
Great balance of fun and challenging holes design
Impressed with this course potentially my next year golf membership. GolfNorth have made a great course guide given to us free in the pro shop that shows details on every hole with very important distances to know and play. Balance of doglegs left and right and straight and also some water hazards in the fairways that need pretty log high launched drives but just hitting two irons on some of this pay #4 is the best smart fun play. The greens are a little slow but mainly level just chip with a lower loft club like 8 iron. I played with 3 other players and almost no three puts and they all did great up and downs so really liked this golfing highly recommend this course.
Scenic....great course, but wet-wet-wet
Great to get the first round in using GOLFNOW...excellent value and despite the course being extremely wet (which the GolfPro mentioned when we checked in), had a terrific day on the links with my 2 boys...can't wait to get back there when its dry and we can golf without the hip-waders!
Was disappointed in this course considering it is supposed to be part of Golf North.
Pro shop staff cordial enough but I had to figure out for myself where to get a cart and which was hole number one as they had changed this from the last time I played. This was all caused by the absence of the starter and all waiting to tee off were left to their own devices. I asked to join a couple who happened to be members which turned out great. The staff seemed more concerned with catering to the tournament that was out there that day. The behaviour of some of the young entrants was questionable as well - more concerned with getting sloshed than playing golf. I hope they all had "d.d.'s". The members told me there had been trouble before with
people falling down drunk and being abusive. Is the Course that desperate for green fees? After the round, I was kept waiting by the young lady more interested in pouring "shots" for the tournament people than serving me. Then I was told that I couldn't order anything to eat as the kitchen was closed and only catering to the tournament. I think the course should just have taken care of the tournament that day and not green fee players. Do it right or not at all! If this is the way Golf North operates, I'm not interested in going back to this Course.
The only positive out of this day was finding lots of golf balls in the creeks due to the tournament ahead and playing with some nice people.
The greens were slow and marked up.
just as i remember
nice layout... plays good... end of season greens still fast
Good layout but needs attention
I have played this course a few times a year for over ten years and I am really disappointed with Golfnorths ownership. Although tee times are booked the starters ignore them and everyone just lines up as you arrive. We played on a Wednesday in October and it took almost 5 hours to complete our round due to course overcrowding.
Thanks for your review, was thinking of joining golf north to play at scenic but now I think I'll just go elsewhere
