Hornby Glen Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of Halton Hills, Hornby Glen Golf Course was built upon rolling, wide-open terrain. This affordable public course offers the quality and many of the amenities of a private club, including a clubhouse and pro shop. The tumbling landscape provides undulating fairways and expansive, rolling greens where players are likely to three-putt if not patient. Despite the golf course's hilliness, it is surprisingly easy to walk. The layout is gentle enough for beginners but it also provides an excellent way for more advanced golfers to work on their short game. The par-4 eighth is Hornby Glen Golf Course's signature hole, known for the long ravine that appears halfway down the fairway where if you get stuck, you'll be facing a blind shot to the green.

finished just under 4 hrs
Pace of play was good, we completed our round in just under 4 hrs with some hackers in front of us (2 groups). We played from the blue tees (6440yds). The marshall did a good job of keeping things moving along. Course conditions were decent with some soggy areas. Staff were friendly and refreshment cart came around several times during the round. Overall enjoyable.
Great course
Great course in very good shape, staff are excellent. Easy to manage getting around not too much rough.
Boring and overpriced
Course is short, flat and boring. It was over $60 w cart and no where near worth it. I play a lot of golf and this course has no character. The back 9 is a bit better than the front. Overall very flat, open and back and forth. You can score really well here got it to -2 at one point but overall it is not a fun track. There are waaaay better courses on golfnow for $60.
good course
I've played Hornby before. Course was in good shape for as dry as its been.
To slow
Was in good condition but just slow no marshals to speed up players most likely won't go back.
Excellent.
Course was in great shape considering how hot it has been. Staff were very friendly, also the 19th hole was great after the round.
Good mix of challenge and “openness” so that you can try out a few things. Early morning start pace of play is awesome. Done in 3 hours.
Great Course
Great condition! Well kept! Friendly staff! Will definitely a course that I will be playing more this season!
Good Value
We had a pleasant day with a very good pace of play. We weren't waiting at any time and couldn't see the group behind us. Makes for a very pleasant day.
The fairways were in good shape as well as most of the rough. The greens were in very good shape with the odd unrepaired ball mark.
The bunkers were also in good condition again with the odd unraked trap.
Bad pace of play
Ridiculously slow pace of play. We had to wait at least 5 minutes per hole (ten minutes for a couple of holes). And no course marshall for the whole round. The whole golfing experience was not worth the price we paid. Won't be back for sure.
Very good course
I really enjoy this golf course. It’s flat so it’s very nice to walk it. The course is open and quite easy to score as reflected in the low slope rating. This means it’s fun to play though as you can rip driver and post a good score. The back nine can creep up on you so it is challenging and the greens are good. As any public course it can get very busy with a wide range of golfers so don’t expect a quick round in peak times. The staff are very friendly - especially in the pro shop. The amenities are basic but has what you need at a good price. I think the course and place has character and would recommend.
A nice day
Played on an unusually hot day in May because the course we often play in was hosting a tournament. Fairly simple layout. Rough was exactly that - rough and thick. The greens were a bit bumpy but apparently were just treated. No beverage service on the course but at the turn they did provide a cooler and ice to keep beverages cool - so buy a few at that time.
Golfing at Hornby Glen
Hornby Glen is a very good course. Never have had a bad experience there. Booked at the last second. A great day!
Traditional golf
An older course with length and enough water and sand to chalenge most golfers. Fun to play.
First round of year
Course was in very good shape for May. Rough very long. Greens very good and pretty true. Finished in 3 and 1/2 hours.
