Hornby Glen Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of Halton Hills, Hornby Glen Golf Course was built upon rolling, wide-open terrain. This affordable public course offers the quality and many of the amenities of a private club, including a clubhouse and pro shop. The tumbling landscape provides undulating fairways and expansive, rolling greens where players are likely to three-putt if not patient. Despite the golf course's hilliness, it is surprisingly easy to walk. The layout is gentle enough for beginners but it also provides an excellent way for more advanced golfers to work on their short game. The par-4 eighth is Hornby Glen Golf Course's signature hole, known for the long ravine that appears halfway down the fairway where if you get stuck, you'll be facing a blind shot to the green.

Easily one of the best deals in the gta
Pace of play on the front 9 was great, no one behind us. The back 9 we caught up to 2 four somes and waited on 14,15 and 16 for about 5 minutes before each tee off. Course is in good shape considering the dry weather the past week.
Walked the course and by hole 12 i wish i got a cart. Was fun overall and will be back.
Expensive Course
I found the price quite high considering there are other nearby courses that are better designed.
I was looking forward to playing here but was disappointed with staff and price. I booked through GolfNow and was quoted one price and when I arrived for my tee time, the price was higher than I would have paid.
Good course, awful staff
Booked through golf now as a 2 sum. It was walking rate decided to take a cart when we got there. 18$ per rider!? Okay I decided to ride even though it's a walkable course. My buddy decided to walk. The group ahead of us let us through on hole 2. To be respectful I told my friend to hop on the cart so we could speed up play a bit. As soon as we got to the 3rd hole the Marshall came to us asking for a credit card for my friend to ride. We explained what happened and then he actually told he was told to keep an eye on us. Pure rat. My buddy continued to walk and we enjoyed the rest of the round. I like the layout and the speed of the greens.
Got one birdie at hole 7
Good layout, goof for walking. Got birdie at hole 7!
Good value
Course was very good considering lateness of the year (late Oct). Very good condition overall and a pleasant golf day.
Best greens
This course has one of the best kept greens I've ever played at and especially at that price. Not the biggest clubhouse, but decent size. At the end of the day, it's all about the course and it's amazing. It'll probably end up being my home course because I tend to go back alot more
Great course condition every year!
Always enjoyed playing here, riding or walking the layout is easy but the greens are fast and challenging. Marshals are visible but are not intimidating to keep the pace on time. Rates are competitive around the area. Clubhouse is great with good food. Staff are professional and friendly.
Great day, fun course, courteous staff
We had a great day golfing. Very well layed out course, and a lot of fub. Great food and beer options. Wrap and sweet potatoe fries were amazing. It was nice at the end that they gave us towels for a hot shower as it rained most of the day. Will be back!
Poor pace
While others have rated the pace of play to be good or excellent that was not our experience. We were blocked by two foursomes who were extremely slow. To get the marshalls to act I called the club house and they came out. The first marshall was ineffective, the second did speak with the two groups however it made a small amount of difference to the pace. We finished our round in 4:15 which is less than the 4:30 they use as a standard, and which they seem to believe is a reasonable speed.
Course is in great condition
My first time to play Hornby Glen and will definitely be back. Golf course is in great condition. Long fairways but large greens . my kind of golf.
Very playable
Always enjoy my rounds at Hornby. Despite drought, course was in very good shape, greens rolled true.
Nice coarse
Walked into the pro shop and stould there to look at the first tee and with out saying anything the counter staff said here is you green fee ticket Kenny your on the tee box when your ready. The golf now rate was $37.00 with cart thanks golf now. Kenny. Ps I shot a 67 the round before on a hot day at Hornby Glen best round of my life of golf now some might shoot me down for posting such a low score but at my age 68 I'm tickled pink and the super should along with his staff be commended happy golfing to all stay hydrated Kenny to heck with betting horses I'll stick with golf the game I love.
great layout great day
It was in fantastic shape and the cart girl came lots of times with a happy smile and it made our day. The greens were pga style true as and smooth as baby's well enough said all in all enjoy your next round
Great intermediate level course!
Played a late afternoon round 4:30 PM on a quiet Monday afternoon. As I only started last year, I found this course the right amount of challenge and pace for a player of my level. If you're a seasoned golfer or play in the low 80's or less, you may find this course easy.
I've played enough rounds at different courses this year to know just how bad the rain drought has hit golf courses. Fortunately, this isn't one of them. The greens and fairways were still brimming with luscious shades of green which for me is always a treat to see this season. Hats off to the groundskeeper for maintaining this course to its current level.
The staff were super friendly from Ross to Rob to pro shop kid to Erin the bartender.
For me the trickiest holes were the par 3's because some of them are situated right beside water hazards and if you can't hit your irons well, good bye ball.
There's also a long par 3 near the end that was fun.
All in all I'd say this is really a nice course and you get your money's worth here. Will definitely be coming back again down the road.
nice golf course
Very nice golf course. Greens are big and in good shape. Fairways are in good shape despite no rain this year. Not a difficult golf course if you keep ball in play. There is enough trouble on course if you get it off line. Enjoyable course to play.
Great Saturday afternoon
Course is in great condition as always. With an afternoon tee time there was no beverage cart on the course. I was less than impressed on checkin as the green fees were much more than quoted on Golf Now. Needed the manager to be involved to get the Golf Now price, glad I had my confirmation email in hand. Enjoy your round!!
Billing practises need to be corrected
It's difficult to recommend a golf course that has such suspect billing practises.
Previous time playing at Hornby Glen there was a billing problem that took 15 minutes to resolve . This time around there was a billing problem again. When it was brought to the attention of the agent behind the desk , I was told that my golf now booking price was wrong and I had to take it up with golf now.im not sure sure who is wrong , however as a consumer I shouldn't have to chance down a billing disagreement between golf now and Hornby Glen.
I can say that the outside staff (marshalls , starters, wait staff, cart ladies) were courteous , professional and friendly. Too bad that the inside staff ruined the experience.
Green Fees ? ? ?
Unfortunately, the Customer Service was disappointing as the course would not honour the price booked through GolfNow.... even when showed the email confirmation. We were charged $72 per player with cart instead of the $55.76 plus tax that was booked through GolfNow. Their solution was to pay the green fee and take it up with GolfNow after the round......or???
The course was not busy (why?) and we played in under 4 hours easily. It is in fairly good condition (rain Monday) but tends to dry out. The layout is quite open and forgiving but the greens are large. Sometimes a putter is not enough club.
This is a Great Walk!
A very nice course. Can we walked easily, it has a fair number of challenges. Plays fairly easy if you can keep it in the fairways. Since the course is flat and open you can recover from your misses easily. The greens are fast and they need to be watered as when they dry up they play very inconsistently. It would be great if course management installs signage for the holes. For a first timer it gets tricky figuring out where you are going after a hole is done.
