Hornby Glen Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of Halton Hills, Hornby Glen Golf Course was built upon rolling, wide-open terrain. This affordable public course offers the quality and many of the amenities of a private club, including a clubhouse and pro shop. The tumbling landscape provides undulating fairways and expansive, rolling greens where players are likely to three-putt if not patient. Despite the golf course's hilliness, it is surprisingly easy to walk. The layout is gentle enough for beginners but it also provides an excellent way for more advanced golfers to work on their short game. The par-4 eighth is Hornby Glen Golf Course's signature hole, known for the long ravine that appears halfway down the fairway where if you get stuck, you'll be facing a blind shot to the green.

Could've been better, but pretty good overall.
I played for the first time at Hornby Glen. It's a shame that I didn't walk the course as it seemed like a great course to walk. The fairways and roughs in good condition, tee boxes could have used a little more TLC. The greens were rolled quite a bit so it was faster than most courses in its price range. Staff was friendly and accommodating as well. I'd play this course when I'm in the area again.
Great greens
A very nice layout with big, fast greens. We played from the whites which were a little short but it was a fun round. However, if you wanted to stretch it out, the blues would certainly make it more challenging. I would like to see the rough and fescue grown out a little too. This would put pressure on players to hit the fairways, which by the way were very nice.
Great
Great course. Rough is true, you go in club up to get out properly.
Great course and value
Course was in excellent condition and challenging pins.
Good value to play
This course has a good value to play with wife.
good for beginers and intermediate players
overall it was a good day of golf, but you had to think carefully about where to place your ball. if you are off the fairway in the rough, expect to add at least a 1/2 stroke to your hole total. the grass tends to grab your club on the way through and the balls are often sitting down. no too many difficult holes. pace of play was spot on and we finished in 4hours 15m. They really need a better range to practice on as they only have a shag range.
Home Comfort
I've been playing this course for the better part of 25 years . It is not overly challenging HOWEVER it can get up and grab you if you make a mistake. The fairways are wide and you can get away with some errant tee shots but watch out there are plenty of trees and bunkers that can catch errant tee shots.
The greens are HUGE and although they used to be notoriously slow the have speed ed up nicely.
The pro shop is small. The is a practice but only for short irons and you must bring your own balls.
Has a nice deck for a round of refreshments after your round.
Really Nice alternative to the highclass courses
We played as a couple and got paired up with another nice couple. Everything was really nice, the Fairways are in a super condition, also the greens. The staff is very friendly and the marshals are smart, although a twosome, which seemed to mistook a hole, hold us up for a couple of time. Nevertheless, really nice course which I really recommended and play more often next year.
Enjoy this course
I've been coming back here for 20 years. It has changed hands a couple of times and now is manned by a very friendly staff .
The pace of play varies I have played it in as little as 3 hours and as much as 4 1/2 .
The simplicity of the course is that it is open the difficulty is that it is open. The course appears wide open so you might let your concentration wander but the fairways are tree lined and well bunkered so the trouble is there. The courses biggest defence is its greens they are huge and generally a little on the slow side. Use to be able to play from the blue tees but the years have caught up to me so the white are long enough (6280 yards ). Though not a scenic course a couple are real gems the par 3 11th and 16th especially. Hornby has a nice lounge area and a great deck .
