About
Situated in the center of Kawarthas on the northern shore of Rice Lake, Bellmere Winds Golf Club offers scenic views of the water from every hole. This 18-hole golf course features plenty of elevation changes and a few doglegs added in for more challenges. The topography causes a few uneven lies, it also makes the golf course very difficult to walk, and there are also natural ditches around the narrow fairways that can be treacherous to any errant shots. All of the par 3s have a pond and there are strategically placed sand bunkers throughout. Bellmere Winds Golf Club is conveniently located only 25 minutes from Peterborough.

Long and challenging and well worth the the visit
Long, well looked-after course a challenge for it's length and greens. Needs better amenities to be one of the best courses around
Tough Course
Course played very tough. Not a flat hole on the course, either up or downhill greens. Would like to see more visible yard markers.
Room for improvement
This is a beautiful and challenging course with vistas of Rice Lake at every turn. The value for the money is fantastic but lately the course conditions have been deteriorating somewhat. The club house is tiny but will eventually be rebuilt. Some of the holes are close to the new development of small cottages by the lake and the noise level distraction is greater. However, for the challenge and value of this overall beautiful course, it’s still one of the best places to golf in the Kawarthas.
Always a fun challenge
Scenic and well maintained course but it's time to improve the amenities (little food available and drinks, especially beer, costly) and the seating
Our experience
Overall had a good day. Had a couple of guys behind us that kept hitting their balls up our butts even though we were waiting for the group ahead of us. A marshal should have been on the course.
Beautiful Scenery
I am not a long enough hitter for this course. The scenery was amazing and the course is not suitable for walking because of the hills and rough terrain.

Very scenic course with lots of holes showcasing the lake.
Lots of elevation changes and fescue is prevelent on the front nine but get to the back and it's swing away!

Excellent Value
The Bellmere Winds Golf course provides a challenging round. Excellent grass conditions on the fairways and greens. My only complaint are the traps; they require sand.
Great Pace for us Seniors
Bellemere is an excellent course the views are spectacular. Even though it was very hot there was nice breeze off the lake. The course was very demanding for myself as there were a lot of holes where the flag was up a steep grade, but we made it great workout. Very well laid out and the pace was great for such a hot day. would definitely recommend to a friend.

Excellent course, my only complaints are the bunkers could have better sand and the clubhouse does not offer anly lunch/dinner food selections.

Tough course
Worst scores we've had in years. Lots of hills, and very hard fast greens. Like a lot of courses it plays best down the center, off center frequently means the ball rolls into thick grasses and is easily lost.
pin locations on some holes were just ridiculous for amateur play
The course itself is in good shape. The pin placements however border on just plain stupid. #8 was on such a slope a missed 18" put travelled almost 8' past the hole. #9 pin was on some kind of ridge. On the green in 2 on a par five and walked away with a double boggy. Same story as Phil in the US open, watch as a put rolled 30 feet twice then the third attempt rolled 12 feet by in the other direction. I could go on but why bother. Will not go back to this course for a long time. Too many fair courses to play. Golf now fees are also getting too high for our group. Once you add the fees there is little to no benifit in booking this way.
