This course is not very difficult.
I loved it because of the par fours.
Granite Ridge Cobalt Course
First time I have played this course. Course was in good shape for fall golf. Not many people on the course. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Staff were friendly.
Slow day
Very slow day made it hard to get into playing. Ended up leaving half way through the 12th hole when when it was backed up with three groups all over the hole.
Was disappointing that we got a good deal from golf now but could not finish the round due to the pace of play.
We were told by staff before we went out that they were not that busy and we could have our choice of course, boy was that ever misleading.
Have played a number of rounds theought the year on weekend mornings this course was by far the worse for pace of play. Sitting in the cart for 5 min between shots does not get you into any grove and makes it start to seem like more of a chore vs a great day out.
Fair play
For the money, this was a great round of golf. While the course is forgiving on most holes there are some good challenging approach shots. Greens are medium in size and have some good undulation to them. Great staff, great scenery and over all I would play again in a pinch.
Good pace of play
Course is really nice. Other than the usual damage from the recent drought its in good shape. Pace of play was good even though there were no marshalls. A little confusion about which 9s we were supposed to play as two employees told us two different things but great round other than that. Very scenic course
Great little trek that is very well maintained
This has become my home course! I really love playing it whenever I can after work. I can usually get around as a single in less than 3 hours. Other foursomes or threesomes are very kind to let me play through. The holes are challenging enough to keep me coming back. The greens are immaculate even with the heat wave we have have all summer. I would highly recommend this trek to anyone who wants to go low, maybe even break 80!
fun round!
we played the day after torrential rain which helped immensely …. the fairways were great, however tee boxes and greens were just alright!
i enjoyed my round a grew deal, however this was not a hard course. Every time i landed a drive in or near a fairway i was left with 100-150 yes to the pin on almost every hole, which made the flags easy to attack! (and my drives are only about 240-270).
I would come back at the rate i got, and hopefully it'll be after rain cuz i remember this course being much dryer!
Divots.
Overall the course was great. Green and fairways were nice considering all of the heat we have had over the past few months.
Staff was very courteous.
Course layout was nice. The Cobalt course had many risk reward shot opportunities. The depth perception on some of the holes made it tricky in club selection
The only problem that I had were the ball marks that were not replaced on the greens. On many of the greens (15 out of 18) there were significant ball marks not taken care of. As a golfer we should all fix ball marks when you make them.
Overall it was a great course and I would book again.
Cheers,
Brian
Where is a Marshall when you need one?
I have played here before and it is a decent course in good condition overall. Lack of a Driving Range is too bad but I'm not going to find the answer to my swing problems 20 mins before my round anyway. They have a Hitting Net to warm up and large practice putting green.
Only problem that day was two groups (total 7) young gentlemen golfers in front of us who didn't seem too familiar with golf / golf cart rules. They drove their carts up to the green on almost every hole. At least one of them must have had Athletic shoes on as the nice, soft greens were wrinkled where they walked or ran. My putting sucks, but this didn't help. They did run frequently as they were trying not to make us wait too much. Nice enough fellows as we saw them regularly in our fairway, but I would rather have been in front of them than behind. They were having fun.
NO MARSHALLS or PLAYER ASSISTANTS to be seen the entire round. Too bad.
The weather was perfect.
Not overly Impressive
Wanted to play this course for a long time after hearing good things about it, was very disappointed after the much anticipated build up. The Ruby is course is basically an executive style course. The distance between the tee blocks and the greens are so close that on more than 1 occasion we where nearly hit by players hitting shots into the greens next to our tee blocks. the course is definatly overpriced in my opinion.
great layout great day
This course was in exec lent condition greens were smooth but tricky at times due to weekend golfers pace of play was a little slow do to walkers and carter's but all and all it was a great day to play the game I love shot a 79 and would recommend this course wish I could find a title st with tuts on it
Granite Ridge - Ruby Course
Well kept interesting golf course. Terrific value. Restaurant is one of the best golf "eateries" we've encountered. They still make real food there.
Lack of Rain has hurt the course
Playing on a Sunday afternoon on a long weekend meant that the course was not too busy, so my wife and I were able to play 18 holes in less than 4 hours. Quite a treat to finish in less than 5 hours these days. The course layout is good, providing opportunities to use a variety of clubs and letting me choose between the "smart" play or going for it on a few occasions.
The primary issue for the course was the lack of rain which has really dried out the course. Many areas of fairways were brown, and if you were in the rough you often were hitting off of hard ground. The greens themselves were in relatively good shape still and ran true and fast.
I have always enjoyed playing at Granite Ridge and at the right price I would certainly visit again.
Afternoon Round
Great round of golf for a Thursday afternoon. ..good pace of play. ....fairways are in need of more water
Just OK
This was the first time I played the course. I would suggest playing from the blues at the whites seem to easy.
The fairways and greens were in very good condition (although there were a few ball marks on the greens), but the tee blocks were at times hard and looked like crab grass.
The pace of pay was less than 2 hours on the front, but more than 2 on the back.
Can't knock the course itself, but there aren't any memorable holes to encourage me to come back.
Fore!
Lots of errant balls flying around.
Awesome
Slow group teed off in front of us. Starter had us skip ahead and finish the 1st at the end. Other than that there was no waiting. Greens were perfect! Best roll I've played in awhile. I will be playing there again
Short Course
Good conditions
Friendly staff
Moderate difficulty
BUT!!!! Marshalls should take more active roll in keeping pace of play up. It took just over 4:30 hrs to play a short course - my opinion it should have taken 4:00 or less.
Nice course
My wife golfed with me and she is a new golfer. The length of the holes was excellent for her and I was able to play closer to regulation from the blues.
