Communication gap
I whipped through the front nine walking as a single. I hit the 10th hole and waited 4-5 minutes after every shot. I walked off after 14. Management should never place a single behind an entire tournament of non-golfers. At least advise the client of the situation before making the turn. Very frustrating.
Value for the money
Not overly impressed first time playing Granite Ridge , green could have been better ! Many ball marks , ruff thick lost a few golf balls . As for layout okay but no indication where fairways ran or tee boxes . Spraying erand tee shots missed us without a fore call.
pace of play [ 4 hours ] was o.k. since it was governed by 4-somes ahead of our 3-some .
Great Views
Lovely course with challenging greens and beautiful views.
Hot Deal and Day
Great Price on golf now. Finished in under 3 hours.
Very satisfying
Booked a game last minute and were able to get in at a good time. Very open, yet challenging. Not too much water on the Cobalt Course.
Greens and fairways were in very good condition. Would have liked to have seen a Marshall on course...had a couple of duffers in front who weren't terribly considerate.
The beverage cart lady; McKenzie was attentive, polite and engaging. More then I could say for the two greeters at the start house, with one shovelling his lunch and the other dragging on a cigarette.. You could have made a quick five if you'd gotten off your butts to offer assistance or provide some direction. Your loss!!!
Management was totally plugged in and a delight to converse with. Had a very nice round!
Cobalt Course
We had a beautiful round today with no delays.
green were in excellent shape.
The green were in excellent shape.
We had a great time playing this course in August. greens were in excellent shape compare to May and June.
Nice round of Golf
course is in very nice shape. Staff was friendly. Pace was not the greatest, saw one group quit behind us. Group in front of us were hitting from 3 different tees, the guy hitting from the back tees thought it was the last round of the Masters and he was Tiger Woods. Heard many of his drives hitting things and it wasn't the fairway. Other than that, a great day of golfing.
greens and tee boxes
greens had all sorts of ball Mark's not repaired.
Tee boxes needed a cutting, could barleysee tees
**AVOID TOURNAMENTS AT ALL COSTS**
My dad and I have been playing this course steadily for two years now. It's quite close to his house and we really like it, it's always in great shape and is moderately difficult. Although this past Saturday we had one of the worst golf experiences in our 60+ combined years of golf. I encourage anyone thinking to visit this course to absolutely AVOID booking a tee off time during a tournament day, even if they say the course is and/or will open up at some point. It won't. We called to book a regular 10am Saturday time for their Cobalt course, they advised us about a tournament so we proceeded to book the Ruby course instead, thinking the tournament was only on Cobalt. After getting through 3 holes averaging 25 minutes per hole we quickly realized they had publicly booked us smack in the middle of a massive private company tournament. Not cool. We had to skip holes 4-9 and re-started on the 10th. This helped up until about the 17th hole. After finishing the 18th we realized there was no way we were going to be able to finish. Playing the back 9 again was not an option (as it was absolutely ram-packed), and the holes 4-9 that we didn't play on the front were now averaging backed up foursomes on every hole. This was on BOTH Cobalt and Ruby, we literally drove throughout the entire course looking to salvage 6 more holes.
Moral of the story I guess, this course may not know how to run a tournament properly as there DEFINITELY wasn't a shotgun start. If they even use the word "tournament" on the phone DO NOT BOOK.
We were thankful to receive full rain checks, which does void them of an apology (that they did not give us). But only completing 12 holes when you we had set that Saturday aside to golf was very frustrating.
Brutal Pace
Longest round I've ever played. Booked on golfnow for 11:33, showed up at 11 to check in and putt around, no range. Shop bumped us to 11:42 no warning or even asked if it was okay. Then starter decided to argue with us over the tee time. Then proceeded to get pushed back probably didn't get off the tee till 12. Round took 6 hours! Didn't see any Marshalls pushing pace, I think they just needed to space tee times further apart or keep the pace moving. One of our foursome had to leave after 9 cause the pace was so bad and the proshop wouldn't charge him for 9 even tho it was a pace issue. I'm not surprised tbh. Silver lining is the course was in pretty solid shape, seems to hold water a bit cause alot of the tee blocks and fairways were saturated and made it a bit of a chore to choose clubs and shots. Other plus is they tossed people a 2 for 1 pass for all the waiting so that's nice too. The layout was decent enough couple nice holes on each 9. Would go back but probably not at a busy time of day.
Always a great time when we play here. Course was in great shape!
