Lowville Golf Club
About
Tucked away in the scenic Niagara Escarpment, Lowville Golf Club offers scenic views of the greater Toronto area. The layout blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque golf setting that the Toronto Star's "Bogey Man" has touted as the most scenic in the area. The golf course has also received top honors from the same publication as the most improved club. This challenging, 18-hole course features several downhill tee shots that can really carry, making it a fun course for long hitters. Lowville Golf Club's 12th hole is notably entertaining. It is a long par-5 that requires a long carry off the tee to a tricky green.

Course condition
3 of us played this course on a very cold and breezy day. While the temperature did gradually warm up it was still pretty cool all of the way around. We all found that the greens and fairways were in excellent condition and the rough had just started to grow. The water hazards were certainly full and occasionally intimidating but we all enjoyed the round and will be back.
As an aside, the views and scenery are spectacular.
Great course with amazing views
This is a beautiful course with challenging long par 4s. Winds make it even more challenging. Over all beautiful course and great layout. I would not walk here because of elevation changes.
Grand view of Niagara Escarpment
Beautiful scenery on most holes of the course. Quite hilly and a cart is a must as we mature. Pace was reasonable, although we waited to tee off on a few holes, we were done in about 4 hours. Many elevated tees challenge you to hit that perfect drive, but we all know what happens from time to time;) Good value, my wife and I decided to book it more often than we have in recent years. Staff was courteous and friendly.
Great fall golfing
As it was a great day in November, the course was fully booked. The starter did his very best to get us out considering we were only 2 players and all other bookings were 4. We started on the back nine and came around after 1 1/2 hrs. Front nine slower. Course in great shape for this time of year. Wide fairways with several holes with elevations, beautiful escarpement scenery.
lowville is outstanding
cant say anything negative here, the course, the people, the service, the food ALL TOP NOTCH
Staff ( starter)was very unfriendly.
I was very disappointed with starter. He was not friendly and sent me to play alone , even though there were 3 people waiting to start and also asked me to go fast.
Not Maintained
Played this course before. While not an elite course, conditions were very poor. A dry, hot summer a legitimate reason however this course did not seem to put any effort to maintain. Greens were reasonable to good. Could not separate fairways from rough, except that the fairways were identifiable by large brown patches resembling a print of a cheetah. Tee blocks not cut. Paid $75 on a Sunday - which would be okay, but not for these miserable conditions. The course appears to have packed I in for the season. Save your money if you demand at minimum - reasonable conditions at a course.
19th Hole Triple Bogey
Had not been to Lowville for a long time. We were happy with the course conditions and the staff were great but the lunch was way below par. Worst $13 cheeseburger I’ve had in a long time!
Tough but entertaining
Great course, tough in places, greens interesting, beer very much over priced.
Awesome
Course was in excellent shape. Greens were fast and unforgiving. Great round with two buddies.
Par on the dream hole of mine that I always see when I drive by the course.
We will be back.
Lowville
The fairways are in great shape the greens are really difficult and very fast. This was the second time playing the course. Lot of very scenic holes look forward to playing this course again
wasted potential
This course can easily be a top 10 GTA course, the views are stunning and equals Devil's Pulpit.
The greens are very good but the rest of the course is poor, maybe it is just the drought that is affecting it.
Another disappointing thing is that scores are not accepted for handicap calculations by golf Canada
The course design is some what mono tone, you are either hitting uphill or downhill.
Beautiful views
It's an Up and down course.
Because of the summe, the Fairways are try. The greens are okay.
We played the course the first time, it's a fair course. But there was a very slow couple in front ... long hits but ball searching and not found.
Lowville
I love this course...the experience is ALWAYS great
Vista
Look at this view guys! The vistas are amazing.
Excellent Course picture perfect view
Played this course off a golf now promotion, great value. Course plays well with decent elevation change, if it's warm outside make sure you grab a cart. Pace of play was good, got held up on 2 holes during the round which wasn't long at all. Staff are very friendly and helpful!
Will play again for sure.
Up & Down and Very Tough
This is a very hard course to walk. It was also a super hot day so walking up the 1st, 7th and 8th holes were quite the challenge. The walk up the 7th fairway is really tough and the elevation changes are dramatic. The views are great from the 8th hole. We played the Front 9 twice because a bunch of geniuses thought that they were playing Test Cricket instead of Golf. They decided to break fro lunch between the front and back 9 and decided to squeeze in between the foursome that was ahead of our twosome. The Marshal was very understanding and he offered us to play the Front 9 again and that helped us finish our round in 4:15 minutes. The greens are in immaculate condition though the rest of the course is very dry and hard. The lack of rain is telling on the course. I hope to come back someday and play both the front and back 9's.
