Tucked away in the scenic Niagara Escarpment, Lowville Golf Club offers scenic views of the greater Toronto area. The layout blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque golf setting that the Toronto Star's "Bogey Man" has touted as the most scenic in the area. The golf course has also received top honors from the same publication as the most improved club. This challenging, 18-hole course features several downhill tee shots that can really carry, making it a fun course for long hitters. Lowville Golf Club's 12th hole is notably entertaining. It is a long par-5 that requires a long carry off the tee to a tricky green.

The View Alone is Worth the Trip

Tucked in on Guelph Line between Highway 5 and the 401, Lowville is by far my favourite golf course to go to time after time.

The tag is friendly, small and a tight knit bunch, often remembering your name each time you return. The food is exceptional with the menu offering top notch specials each night. I often enjoy a post round beer on the patio overlooking hole number 11 to see how the golfers finish it out.

The course itself is fantastic. Offers a great challenge with its landscape but also open enough for some forgiveness (I'm a 20+ handicap). The view from atop hole number 7 is awesome, especially as the leaves start to turn for the fall.

Overall, this is a course that can frustrate you, but calm you down at the same time with how beautiful and quiet it is. Highly recommend you try it out at least once. You'll be back.

Definitely Going Back

Annual Remembrance Day round.
Have known About it for 20 years. Never bothered to play it.
All other courses we've been playing the past 3 weeks have leaves all over and the greens aerated.
Not Lowville. The greens were absolutely exceptional for this time of year.
Really enjoyed the relief as well... nice change from all the flat tracks in the region.
It is now on our full time play list.

Not a flat lie anywhere

This is a really nice course that is beautiful to look at as a spectator but is a tough place to be as a golfer. Lots of undulating lies, fast greens that break multiple times in ways you wouldn't consider, and lots of slopes make this a tough place to play. It was fun though. Take a cart - the hills will be hard on your legs after 4 hours.

Greens need work

Lowville is a challenging course with great scenic views. For the amount of traffic they let play (overbooked) and what they charge, major improvements need to be made to the greens, which are bumpy, slow, and not cut properly. On the plus side, some great driving holes.

Lovely Mountainside Course

Excellent course conditions but be prepared for long uphill fairways and uneven lies. You'll feel like a pro teeing off from elevated tees on downhill holes however.

Cool day and we walked. Good exercise. I would recommend taking a riding cart next time. Course is in a good shape and challenging enough.

Lowville

The course is quite scenic, however the pace of play was slow second 9. Holes were quite challenging, but could be a longer course to make it more enjoyable. Pond surroundings in poor shape.

Always play well here

The course has some challenging holes that can get you into trouble. 16 is a tough par 4 that plays like a 5 and the par three 8 can cost you big if you go long or right. The escarpment makes putting tricky as breaks on the green will sometimes fool you. Played one of my best rounds ever on Sunday. Shot an 81

Love the course. Would come more often but find it a little overpriced. Need a martial to control pace of play.

Outstanding

Beautiful course carved in to the side of the Niagara Escarpment. Panoramic views looking north east. The course has some challenging holes. @ suggestions. I wouldn't play from the tips unless you're a 6 handicap and I would 't walk it. Friendly staff and my son and I played the course in under 4 hours.

Lowville review

Course in good condition. Traps were true sand traps, which is a good thing when you end up in one. The vistas from different elevations are gorgeous. The only complaint was the greens were pretty woolly... would have liked them faster and truer like they have been in the past. Perhaps they just needed to be rolled and cut - it was a VERY hot day - so that could be why they were not cut. Overall - I enjoy playing Lowville and usually score true or better to my handicap.

Great day

Course is in excellent shape. Back 9 roughs were a
little longer and made for nice challenge if off the fairway. Greens were medium fast and firm. Traps were soft and very playable. All in all wouldn't change a thing.

Never Disappoints. Great Value!

Other than some of the greens being a little banged up as a result of the long winter, the course is in excellent shape. Interesting layout keeps you visually entertained and the views in the plateau tee blocks give you a nice look at the escarpment. I look to golf now for the deal to play here, and I'll certainly do it again.

Scenic Serenity

If you enjoy the view as much as the course than the hoile itself Lowville takes some beating. Built on prime property on Niagara Escarpment the views are eye catching. Overall conditions were good. We played 9 holes starting just before 5 pm and finished in just under 2 hrs with no waiting and nobody pushing us from behind.
