Turtle Creek Golf
About
Laid across rolling countryside atop the Niagara Escarpment, Turtle Creek Golf uses the natural undulations of the landscape to its full advantage. The hilly terrain combined with the rocky outcroppings scattered throughout add to the scenic nature of the golf course. The elevation of the terrain shifts between subtle and dramatic. For the most part, the layout is wide open but there are some trees to be wary of as well as some rough areas. Water plays a prominent role on the course, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Turtle Creek's idyllic charm flows from the course to the clubhouse, which incorporates a stone building from 1835.

Tough, small Greens
Overall it was very good value for the money $45 hot deal. I thought the course was well maintained with some exceptions. To play at 6400 yards ( Green Tee’s) it felt like the tee blocks were an afterthought, as they were located sometimes in unusual ways. The holes are packed tightly together and the greens are sloped and difficult; many of them tiny. There are some very scenic holes and challenging shots. The carts were electric and worked well. The pace of play was very slow the day we played.
Challenging
Greens were very fast, pace of play was very good. and in general course was in good condition. Overall made for a very challenging day.
Great course. Tough lay out.
Great course and had a lot of fun playing here, even for a beginner. Actually shot a pretty good score despite it being super tough. Course is a ball eater if you get too overconfident with what tees you use. Would definitely play again.
Full 18 at Turtle Creek
i've played the front nine here about 4 years ago, This was the first time playing the entire track,
TIGHT layout, but not too much issue with stray shots, several sharp doglegs, and blind tee shots.
If in good position not too tough, helps to know where to put the ball and on e of our foursome has played here before and was helpful in this. Several fairways slope heavily so position off the tee is key here.
played with 3 guys from KW area who were awesome to p,lay with, two of them came together and i and another single made up the group.
Pace was slow, over 4 1/2 hours to play, but course was very busy, No sign of marshals and no starter which may help.
Course is in very good condition, Greens are very undulating and very grainy. Putting down hill with grain easy to be 8-10 feet past hole, but putting up hill or into grain, you had to putt very firmly NO cup sits flat, i had 4 full 360 lip outs on well made putts.
overall fun round, weather was great and now that i am a bit familiar with the layout would certainly like to play it again,
Not really worth the posted costs... find a deal!!!
I played Turtle Creek the year after it opened, and really felt that the course needed to mature, and hoped that they would increase the quality and size of the greens as the years passed. Swore it off, but gave it another chance hoping things would be different.
We played the course again because of a lack of options, and I wish we could have used our money for another course. THE GOOD... fairways are in good conditions, and some nice hole designs. Tight and narrow openings leave for difficult tee shots. Thats about where the good ends.
THE BAD.... tee boxes are in rough shape... and such small greens! Like insanely small for the types of holes they have presented for you. Land a ball 3-4 yards away from the hole, and it will roll off the back. I just feel like they could spend some time and make them a little bigger. If they were responsive and not so hard, maybe that would change my opinion.
I would say the course design is ok, but dangerous. So often, tee boxes are right next to the previous green. Errant tee shots are definitely in range. And for some of the longer holes, the typical drive will land dangerously close to another tee box. Just not designed properly in this regard. Be prepared for some difficult tee shots that are super narrow, or require you to clear 210-240 in the right exact place to be in play.
To be honest, I cant see how this course charges what they post. Thank goodness we had a deal to bring the price to $45/player. Having played so many courses in the region and around the GTA, $45 can get you a lot better. (I just played Crosswinds for $55 the previous week) Play this course, but dont play without some sort of deal.
Poor Scheduling
I played on a Saturday and was only able to play back 9 twice. Front 9 was too busy and they could not fit me in.
Great value
Course is in great shape. Still a little wet in places but is drying nicely.
Ok not great
On the last two or three holes they have a large beetle or something infestation that gets in the way of playing the holes. Other than this the course was ok. Pace of play was very slow.
Gone Downhill
No starter or marshals early afternoon Sunday led to a feeling of Lord of the Flies on the back 9. This course has so much potential to be great but the vibe is that’s they don’t care. Love the challenging greens and tight fairways. The problem is that the course is left in the hands of young staff who either do not golf or care to pay attention to the course. Throw in weekend hacks playing multiple balls, cutting in on #10 after an hour on the patio and you get some really angry players who paid a lot of money for a Sunday round. Might play again on a weekday for a hot deal but pay anything more than $40 and you’ll be disappointed.
Great course and value
Great course just outside of the GTA. Good value with carts included.
Staff are always friendly, beers always cold!!
Marshall’s were out and trying to keep the pace.
The course was in great condition for the middle of the summer.
Fun Course
Definitely worth a visit but recommend finding a deal online or Golf Now
Lovely Course
The course is hilly and has lots of water.. The ladies tees are much shorter and avoid water but if you want challenge try the whites instead. There is an area to have a drink and the gardens are lovely.
average rating given the price
Paying about $65 on saturday for 18 with cart was a good price. However the course layout was confusing for my second time out and given its tight quarters we almost got hit by stray balls 3 or 4 times (you know, you hear a thud right beside you). One ball even smashed our cart but thankfully we were at the T box...
Excellent
The course is challenging on some holes. Still very wet right now, but when it dries out someone will be a great place.
Recommend you try it.
Nice course
Enjoyed playing here, although we only got in 11 holes before the rain started. They gave us a rain check for 9 holes, very much appreciated. The first 9 holes were relatively straight forward, not too long ...but they are narrow. Got confused on the back nine and missed holes 11 & 12...played the 13th...then the rain started. The 10th hole is a challenge. We will be back.
Well made putts find the bottom of the cup.
