Turtle Creek Golf
About
Laid across rolling countryside atop the Niagara Escarpment, Turtle Creek Golf uses the natural undulations of the landscape to its full advantage. The hilly terrain combined with the rocky outcroppings scattered throughout add to the scenic nature of the golf course. The elevation of the terrain shifts between subtle and dramatic. For the most part, the layout is wide open but there are some trees to be wary of as well as some rough areas. Water plays a prominent role on the course, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Turtle Creek's idyllic charm flows from the course to the clubhouse, which incorporates a stone building from 1835.

Challenging course
Was very disappointed with counter staff at lunch. Showed no interest in being helpful or friendly .
Treesome.
We did not see a single turtle! Overall the course is good and unique. There are trees, and more trees. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The opening hole is disappointing as you will likely have to lay up once or twice, unless you're extra familiar with the layout. Watch out another tree! The greens are very challenging and well kept. The water hole (surrounded by water) closest to the road, was very interesting. I think it needs some more work to make it more visually attractive, but i don't like holes you are blind from the tee box. I look forward to playing again. heres how i scored on the first five holes (5over, par, bogey, birdie, bogey).
Turtle Creek Golf Course
We played the back tees to give the course some more length and perhaps that is what affects my review. Too many blind tee shots off the tee. A few holes from the back tees we weren't even sure what direction the hole was going because the fairways were narrow and undefined.
Between narrow fairways, too many blind shots and greens that were hard and inverted making the landing spots small it wasn't a pleasant experience for average golfers. Perhaps the experience is very different from the closer tee box.
Don’t waste your money or time
By far the worst course in the area that I’ve ever played. To start there was no starter and 5 groups lined up on the first tee which made for an awful and rushed start. The course was in awful shape, fairways were as hard as a rock and greens were even harder. I have never seen a course with so many blind shots from the tees. I lost multiple balls by landing my 2nd shot on the green and having it take a 5 foot bounce OB into the woods. That is absolutely ridiculous. The greens were trash, they did not hold any balls and were hard as a rock. The bunkers were clay and a couple were filled with water. Save yourself the time and the money and do not book your tee time here.
Well worth the Drive
We play this course on a regular basis because it is reasonably priced, well cared for, staff is extremely friendly and it is a challenge to score well. It may look easy at first, due to length, but there are so many potential problems if you do not hit the shots. They're not sneaky...they're right in front of you, but you have to choose the right club and hit it well. It's a lot of fun, especially when your playing partner is playing well!
Would play this course again
Had a great time playing the variety of this course. Lots of water and trees makes it a fun course.
hopefully play again soon
I was a big mistake of the course managements, and my scores was a horrible (96). I thought it was an easy course and didn't look at the course lay out at all. A big mistake .....hopefully,I will play again very soon
Excruciatingly slow
2nd time this has happened and only ever happened at this course, we walked off after 9, even after paying for 18. Every hole 15-20 minutes wait to tee off. No starter, no martials. great price but no fun if you have to wait at every hole.
Nice course
Under 5,500 yds., so a shorter course but has a few challenging holes. No.13 and No 10
Fun layout for Intermediate golfers
Great value for your money
Beautiful course. Tees, greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Challenging layout but not too tough. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Tough Course - Hit Straight!
There are a number of fairly straightforward holes on this course, but there are also a number of challenging ones. You have to be able to make a straight shot here on some very tight holes. For early season, it was in good shape, with most bunkers recently maintained and they were allowing carts on the paths. Lots of fun and challenges.
Shouldn't Be Open
I have played this course in the past and find it pretty good. Its challenging yet fair. However this course was much to wet to be open. And since I booked a "hot deal" I could not get a refund as the course was still open. Carts were allowed out but on cart path only which is normally fine. However it was more than soggy everywhere. Many times we chose not to play certain lengths of the course as your feet would be under water. Sand traps were ponds and still filled with snow. Greens had been aerated and were impossible to putt fairly on as the ball would bounce and change direction. Again this course should not have been open. Also I think it's time this course thinks about expanding its food services. At best in the summer they have a bbq out back where you can get a burger and hot dog. You cant even get fries. All in all it's a good course with great potential.
First round of the season
We've played Turtle Creek a few times now. Always mid-week and never been disappointed. Spring weather had just arrived days before so the conditions were less than perfect, greens had been aerated in the Fall and hadn't been rolled or grown in yet, bunkers still had snow. But the weather was 16 and sunny and the pace was excellent!
A Nice Course
It was my first time playing the course. The layout was nice and I would like to play it again in season as it was still really wet. I was disappointed at the price as I don't feel it was warranted considering the very wet conditions.
Nicely kept, fun track
Course was in great shape for this time of year. It has it's quirky touches, but lots of challenge for all levels. Some greens are too sloped for a fair challenge, but better than they used to be. Thanks!
A decent challenge
The course was in good shape for this time of year . Greens were a bit tricky thanks to recent aeration .
Nice golf carts with windshield - important in the cooler weather .
Turtle speed
This is a nice course for the price. Greens have lots of undulations. Some holes are quite gimmicky, but it is a fun course to play. There was one group holding up the 3 or 4 behind them, the Marshall came out once but did not do anything. So this one group ruined the pace of play for everyone.
Really good, we'll be back!
We were looking for somewhere new to play, And this was a place that I'd seen driving around the area, and it looked very promising. We booked a great deal on golf now, on a perfect fall day. We we're not disappointed. It's a lovely course, well-maintained and conditioned. The staff were great. The course guide is really helpful, as some of the holes are a little quirky, but not in a bad way. The only negative about the course was the condition of the sand traps. They didn't appear to be maintained, clearly didn't drain well, even though it hasn't rained in two weeks, and some of them were falling apart. If they could fix this the course would be almost perfect. It's a short course, but tricky, and with very small sloped greens. Don't be fooled by the length, you will have a challenging game.
