About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

Great course
As usual course was in great shape even for early spring. Always a pleasure to play.
Challenge your game
Silver Lakes is a nice course to challenge your game. I enjoyed the layout of the course with the water hazards and welcoming bunkers.
If you want to score well on this course you have to think your shot thorough instead of playing it instantly. The course is technical therefore an excellent way to challenge your golf.
There was no marshall so the pace of play could be an issue. The course was very wet due to a recent storm but I will be back once it gets warmer.

Nice course, always in decent condition. Very wet, sometimes too wet. Bring bug spray. Very nice staff. Good value

A great course with no trickery
My son and I played on a drizzly 7 degree day with toques and lots of layers. No one else in sight and it was actually very enjoyable. Fairways were in great shape and greens still rolled well. The layout is tough but fair with everything in front of you. Pro shop guys were uniformly excellent. We’ll be back.

Enjoyed this course
I have played Silver Lakes several times and enjoy it. The range has hits balls into the lake so it isn't the best. Some fairways are a challenge due to them being narrow but not unreasonable.

Above Average Course
Well kept course, with a country feel. Staff very friendly. Good variety of holes. Relatively challenging compared to the average public course. Drawback would be the 5 hour round played on more than one occasion on weekends. Should spread out tee times or have a Marshall who enforces pace of play.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We have marshalls and do our best to enforce the 4:20 minute pace of play. I can see that it was booked solid this past Monday when you played and apologize for it being a longer than usual round. We actually tee groups off in 9 minute intervals which at other courses is usually 7,8 minute intervals. We hope that you come and see us again soon.

Cart Path Only
Fortunately there's two cart paths, however one is a cow trail!
The coarse is in fabulous condition.

Great course, very slow pace
Have played this nice course several times over many years and usually enjoy its layout and conditioning which were excellent this year too. Unfortunately we played on a day last week when they also had a small tournament. It took our 4-some using carts 5 hours and waited on every hole. It amazes me that golf clubs risk their reputations by booking tournaments followed closely by individual tee times on the same day. Don't they know that tournaments rarely have a quick or even on-time pace? They had too many 4somes on the course that afternoon. And their marshals were ineffective, especially on the second nine.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and sorry to hear that your experience was a little more drawn out than you would have liked. We understand your frustrations. Generally we book a limited number of tee times after tournaments and don't start them until 45 mins-1 hour giving a buffer that still allow public to play in 4:15 minutes. They claimed Golfnow overbooked therefoe could keep tee time.
