About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

This course is well maintained
This course is better than last game 10 years before.
Thunderstorm and rain check
I completed 7 holes when the horn sounded to return to the clubhouse.After waiting 15 minutes inside, I inquired how much longer til we could go out. I was told another 30 minutes or so. With that delay and the slow pace of play, it was unlikely that I could have completed the full 18 holes before before nightfall. I asked for a rain check. I got one for 9 holes & a cart.
Thanks for the review Jon. It has been a challenging season to say the least. Seems like no more than 2-3 days in a row without rain before it starts up again. We are hoping for a nice long/dry/warm rest of the summer & fall.

Nice fairways
I like this course for the manicured fairways. It almost looks like artificial grass but it is nice and soft. The rate we paid was a special. Because of the wetness we were bombarded by mosquitoes on th front nine but solve that problem with insect repellent and had a wonderful back nine.

Golfing in a marsh
Tough review to write as the course was a victim of the elements.
The course was drenched, wet,muddy, soggy, you name it.
Mother natures wasy of saying find another sport.
Its a great course, but not when you have to use a ball retriever to get your ball out of the water in the middle of the fairway.
At long last mother nature is cooperating with us "Shellin". Course has dried up and good to go. A challenging spring for all the courses in southern ontario that's for sure. Thankfully we have cart paths which has allowed us to stay open when many were unable.

Nice Course
Enjoyed this course but stay out of the trees as mosquitoes abound.
Great fairways and greens, friendly staff. Was a busy day but pace of play kept moving with minor delays a couple times. Have played tournaments here and the food was good at events. Good value on a Hot deal tee time

Great course
I really like playing Silverlakes. It is well laid out. They keep the course clean and well maintained. Chris is a good guy and always welcoming. The hot dogs are pretty good too.

Greens are like lightning
Great course. One of my favourites in the GTA. Course is in great shape so early. Greens are some of the best you'll find. Fast but fair. Staff is great and friendly and remember you. My only nit picky thing is the gas carts. Noisy. But other than that worth every penny.

Great time out
Hidden gem. Always saw his on GolfNow however was a good drive away. Just a fun course that test your bag. Was abit slow however the group in front and back were great to chat with and we made the best of a great day out..we are coming back soon...staff top notch.

First timer playing and will be back!
Found course on golf now for a great rate. Only played 9 but course was in great shape and fairways and greens were crisp. Will definitely add this course to our list of frequent courses for the future

The greens had been aerated in the last week or so and the bumpiness of the greens really detracted from a very good golf course. Courses should let people know before they book when aeration was completed. The lack of smooth greens really detracted from our enjoyment of the round.

Always I enjoy Silverlakes
I am relatively frequent player at Silverlakes since early 1990s Whenever I play this course I always enjoy Silverlakes. South Carolina course in Ontario. Friendly staff, nice warm up facility. At the beginning of the season greens were not as fast as they always are, but cannot complain at all. The dat I played was very windy day and all par 5 holes were much tougher. I got par at 18 which makes me come back Silverkakes this season again. HWY404 extended so much easier access as well.
