Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club
About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

The course was a wet mess
This course should be discounted in its current condition as it is a mess. They have flooding issues everywhere. One tee box is roped off due to the flooding. Lots of areas under water. If you stray a bit off line forget about it, flood zone. I realize they cannot control the amount of moisture they have, but while the course is in this condition they should not be charging regular season rates. Very disappointing.
very nice
It was my first time playing this course. We played first thing in the morning. It was perfect day for a round. The course was in prrestin shape. Wiilll play again, but will have to remember to bring the bug spray.
This course has great view.
This course has great view.
This course provides a variety of tees on each hole making it a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Tough rough to hit out of. Stay in the short grass. Challenging
The course plays longer than the yardage due to the soft lush fairways - keeps roll-out to a minimum. The rough is sticky and the ball tends to drop down into it. Not one 'fluffy' lie all day. Made it difficult for recovery shots and chipping around the green. I'm not complaining about these features but note the added difficulty. The course needs some defense since it has a lot of open, low to the ground greens with little bunker protection. It's a beautiful setting and when they finish re-doing the bar/restaurant area it'll be a perfect day of golf. Very attentive staff.
food was good
the course was in good shape. staff were friendly and helpfu.l.snack bar was in a new place. The food was very tasting.
greens were a little bumpy and slower than usual
great course.some tight fairways.tree lined so you can't spray the ball here.
Booking through golfnow
Booking through golfnow was really smooth and all worked out to be a fantastic golf outing for the right price.
Course conditions were quite good overall although some areas had drainage issues everytime I play there. Overall great course and friendly staff.
Walking friendly course with water hazards
Medium difficulty well maintained walking friendly golf course
Made the trip from Toronto
Played Silver Lakes for the first time May 19. Looked at plenty of options within an hour of Toronto, and the positive reviews swayed us.
Silver Lakes is a well maintained, straight ahead course. An interesting variety of holes. Traps are well positioned to make approaches a challenge. Greens are in decent shape. There is a unique practice area...the driving range is a pond.
We paid $50 including a cart and taxes, and this represented excellent value. We will return if we see a similar greens fee.
Silver Lakes
Great track with plenty of tree lined fairways. The open space btween the trees made finding my partners errant ball easy. This allowed play to move along well and minimized "ball hunt time". The fairways are well marked and well maintained. The greens were a moderate challenge. They weren't breaking as much as they appeared they would. This will likely change later in the season. Overall, I would recommend Silver Lakes to golfers of all skill levels.
One of my favorites
The course is always in great condition, the fairways are as good as it gets and it's a great place to walk. I always have fun and play well here so I try and play at least 2 rounds a month .
Great track
The course was beautiful, challenging but still enjoyable for any skill level, the staff was super friendly and helpful
Great course
Great course, true test of all your clubs. Greens recently dressed so a little poor
challenging course
This is one of my favourite golf courses. Tree line holes makes it a difficult course if your spray the ball.
Will return with pleasure.
First, the customer service. When we were at the car a staff member was there to unload our clubs and take them to the clubhouse. We were walking the round and he had them waiting near the first tee. Then gave them a quick wipe for us as we checked in. Second, the price was right. We booked on line at a good rate. When we checked in at the pro shop they gave us a better spring walking rate. Third, the challenge of the course. Playing off of the back tees this course is over 7000 yards with a slope of 133 and has several tee boxes that add a tougher tee shot as well as length to a hole. This made some of the tee shot decisions a welcomed challenge. Three of the par 3's are over 200 yards from the tips. Holes are varied, some bend right some bend left and some are straight away. Most holes are tree lined on both sides. Pin placements were tucked behind some bunkers and tough looks. Bunkers are dry and fluffy even after an evenings rain. Maintenance crews were filling divots in the fairways in the morning. Greens on the day were slow and bumpy from a recent punching, this was the only downside. Looking forward to a hot summers day of new challenges.
Nice course
Great course except I didn't know greens were aerated and in terrible shape. Would have booked different course.
Courses should offer big discount and your company should make it easy for customers to see beforehand course conditions.
Maybe highlife in colour so it stands out. Thanks.
