Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club
About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

Will return with pleasure.
First, the customer service. When we were at the car a staff member was there to unload our clubs and take them to the clubhouse. We were walking the round and he had them waiting near the first tee. Then gave them a quick wipe for us as we checked in. Second, the price was right. We booked on line at a good rate. When we checked in at the pro shop they gave us a better spring walking rate. Third, the challenge of the course. Playing off of the back tees this course is over 7000 yards with a slope of 133 and has several tee boxes that add a tougher tee shot as well as length to a hole. This made some of the tee shot decisions a welcomed challenge. Three of the par 3's are over 200 yards from the tips. Holes are varied, some bend right some bend left and some are straight away. Most holes are tree lined on both sides. Pin placements were tucked behind some bunkers and tough looks. Bunkers are dry and fluffy even after an evenings rain. Maintenance crews were filling divots in the fairways in the morning. Greens on the day were slow and bumpy from a recent punching, this was the only downside. Looking forward to a hot summers day of new challenges.
Nice course
Great course except I didn't know greens were aerated and in terrible shape. Would have booked different course.
Courses should offer big discount and your company should make it easy for customers to see beforehand course conditions.
Maybe highlife in colour so it stands out. Thanks.
great Golfnow deal!
arrived early and staff is nice enough to send us out, fairways and greens are in good condition, some rough spots need attentions. overall great condition for spring golf at good value ($45).
In Great Shape for Early Spring
The golf course was in great shape. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating. Rates are very reasonable this year. I didn't play last year as the fees were not competitive with similarly-rated courses.
Way too long to play a round, 5.5 hours.
Course was in good condition. Holes are short but trees and water make it challenging. Way too long to play a round, 5.5 hours.
great course maintenance, customer service needs work!
course is in great shape now that it's dried out a bit (and before the bugs arrive). Really enjoyable round except for two areas of concern:
a) was told by the starter that there was a Marshall on course to keep things on track , never saw him once the whole round..and we needed him on the back nine as it slowed down considerably.
b)The two golfers I joined had a power cart that ran out of gas on the 13th....they called in the problem to the pro shop and the problem was not dealt with in a way that emphasized customer service, resulting in the two riders carrying their bags for the rest of the round..very disappointing attitude from course staff on this point.
great day
great staff helpful friendly, excellent replay rate, course was in great shape
Carolina Golf
Course was in good shape for 2nd week opened. Greens were fast and well groomed. No facilities opened yet (half-way house, etc.) and 1 Refreshment cart. Course is a good test and not one to play if your slice is being hyper active!!
excellent course
great course!!! friendly staff....excellent value
adam
Course was in excellent early season shape.
Good layout with great bunkering. Not a lot of water but the obstacles are all relevant.
With the late wet spring some of the fairways were very wet and some areas of the rough were under water.
A Great Course!!!
Silver Lakes is always a great time! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The course is still in great shape for this late in the year. The greens are pretty true. Less leaves than I would have expected, which is a huge plus for fall golf. I would play here more if I could always get the deal I got the other day from GolfNow.com
very good layout and setting.
This day we played there were way TOO many leaves on the fairways and greens. Clubhouse reception is usually 3/10. play there only if we get a deal through golf now.
Nice summer course; fall nightmare
It's a nice course, but not a great place to play in the fall. Too many leaves. Anything out of the fairway almost impossible to find. Leaves covering the green causes a slower pace of play as everyone has to clear off their line before putting. Also, was not impressed with the staff. Took over 10 minutes to check in, then we were not given keyts to the cart so had to return to the pro shop to get our keys...
Decent Course
If you're not paying full price for this course I definitely recommend it. Not a long course, but definitely not an easy course
Greens were in great shape; Deceiving fairways (in a good way), as they were a lot more playable than what they appeared to be from the tee.
The course was still in pretty good shape considering that it's the end of September in Ontario. Unfortunately, the falling leaves made it very difficult to find your ball, even on the fairways. If you hit into the first or second fringe, it was futile to even try to look for it. The groundskeepers were doing their best to try and clean up the leaves, but it was a losing battle. Other than that, we had a terrific round. The staff were very friendly, end even though it was a very busy day, the marshals kept the pace moving along so that we were finished in under five hours (about 4 hrs, 45 minutes). We will play here again.
Great course provides excellent value.
I have played Silver Lakes many times over the years. I only wish it was closer to home. I would play it more often. It has a fair but challenging layout at a reasonable price. It is a course I would recommend everyone play at least once. It has the older golf course feel with mature tress. It is also away from the traffice and noise you find at many courses today. One of my favourites!
great deal through Golf Now
I would play this course again. Although location not convenient, value through Golf Now was great
excellent
I have played this course several times and have always found the course to be in excellent condition. Out of town guests that I have brought to this club have all asked for a return visit.
The atmosphere projected by all the staff from pro shop, starters, rangers to hospitality, very professional.
beautiful layout in a lagoon type setting.

Started the day with a great breakfast in a bar type atmosphere inside the clubhouse , but you can also eat outside on the patio overlooking the 18th hole. The starter was easy to get along with and offered some local knowledge about the course and its condition. The day we played was a day after some substantial rainfall , and unfortunately the fairways were a little too wet in some places, producing beaver pelt size divots occasionallly.Upon arriving at the greens , the ball got more roll out than we expected ,especially after the moist fairways, but still probably 7-8 on the stimp meter.I'm sure they would be like putting on a pool table on a dry day !! Lots of undulation to the greens , and several multi level surfaces also. It's nice to have a course provide the option of 5 tee boxes, making it playable for all. At the end of the day , we had a great golf experience that provides a good challenge to all , whether a 8 or 18 handicap.
