About
The Ussher's Creek Course at Legends on the Niagara is one of two championship courses at this unique complex, which is also home to a nine-hole course and a unique, 3-acre, 18-hole putting course. The meandering creek after which the golf course is named, snakes through a number of holes, making pinpoint accuracy a necessity. The scenic layout, which borders the Niagara River, features tree-lined fairways and tall, thick fescue rough. There are also wetland hazards coming into play throughout. Doglegs, well placed bunkers, and prevailing wind are all challenging elements that come into play but generous fairways add a player-friendly touch to the Ussher's Creek course at Legends on the Niagara.

Ushers Creek
Excellent course. Good shape considering the amount of rain this last month.
More spring golf
A few complaints (whining) follows but did enjoy the round and will go back soon.
I chose to walk again rather than cart path-only. Tough course to walk, mostly flat but distance between holes and pushing a hand cart through wet long grass and soggy areas was a chore. Also more difficult to hit of spongy turf and no roll - anything high will plug.. You can see where they tried to mow the grass and gave up. I played from the white but should probably used forward tees - no roll etc.
However a good day in the semi-sun, Couple holes are long with water just shy of the greens - makes it hard to get there in two. With wet conditions mostly risk rather than reward. I'll wait a couple weeks before next booking to allow for drying out so I can focus on shot making rather than keeping dry feet.
TOO WET TO ENJOY
Normally we have enjoyed this course, but with all the rain it was just a big mess. To hit from the fairway and wear mud isn't any fun..
Should have stayed closed for the day
Course was too wet and made too many shots unplayable as the ball was either plugged or lost in standing water in the fairways! You sank walking to your ball and the grass was too wet for the general maintenance of cutting near impossible.
This course was closed yesterday due to extreme moisture and should have stayed closed today also.
The course is fantastic, but needs time to dry out.
Wet
Course was really wet but fun.... it still is early May .
excellent layout
although course was wet due to recent rains,it was still nice to play.e
course was wet and cart path only....
We luckily were paired with another twosome or play would have been slow. Greens were excellent but the fairways were quite wet and spongy in places making it more difficult. Beautiful layout and the rough was very tough to get out of at times. Challenging bunkers and we didnt care for the gravelly sand but otherwise a good day.
Wet and Wild
The course had received a fair bit of rain so wn byas a bit waterlogged. Had to play lift clean and place with next to no roll ie plugged balls were the norm. The greens were just the opposite ie cut thin and dry so they were pretty fast. These too opposite made for a challenging round. Conditions were overcast to the point of threatening with plenty of unpredictable swirling winds. All in all...a challenging day and we got more windburn than sunburn.....and a little bit of burn from the course....lol
Despite the wet conditions we hope you enjoyed our course. Hopefully you'll get a chance to visit us again on a better day.
Course in good shape. Played on a raining day & the greens were still fast.

Ussher's Creek is the gem of Niagara and Western New York
All three of the regulation Niagara Parks Golf Courses are excellent but Ussher's Creek is the crown jewel of them all. It is very challenging and it rewards good shots and punishes errant shots, sometimes severely.
The greens are in the best shape that they have ever been in and they were rolling at about a 12.5 on the Stimp today...fast and true are the words to describe them.
If you haven't played here yet, do so. It is wonderful.

Expect mud on every tee shot
The course grass takes a good 15 yards off every shot because it sticks into the very soft fairways. It hasn't rained in a week so it was not the weather. It's sister course, Whirlpool, has a different base or grass and you get a lot longer drive. This is not a short course to start with so many holes are impossible from the start. Play Whirlpool or Grand Niagara and play good.... you will just frustrate yourself here trying to reach the green. A scenic course and nice facilities.
Sorry to hear about your experience. I can assure you this isn't the norm. We have in fact had a lot of rain the past few weeks here. We hope you'll give us another chance to experience our courses here at Legends on the Niagara.
Great condition
Course was in awesome shape even after the fairways have been poked. Great job filling and mulching. Greens running fast and true. Second single off @ 7am. Done in 2hrs 20 mins

3rd round of 3 in Niagara for weekend
Never seen it this busy at 7:30am on a weekend. Huge group / tournament on Battlefield which made it next to impossible to get to bag drop area. Thanks god we were on Ussher's Creek !. Course is great layout, greens rolled nicely bunkers in good shape. Fairways were recently air rated and made for mud balls. We played lift/clean and place due to wet and muddy fairways, this was the only draw back.

We played Whirlpool Course on Sat. and it was very disappointing. The Legends course is night and day by comparison. Don't even bother to go to Whirlpool. It is vastly over-rated.
