Willodell Golf Club of Niagara
About
Willodell Golf Club of Niagara is neighbored by Lyon Creek to one side and Tee Creek to the other. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills covered with mature trees, which border the undulating fairways. Several ponds and two creeks come into play on 10 holes. There are numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with in addition to the water hazards. The layout features a mix of driving holes, strategic holes, and some tough par 3s. Being so diverse, the golf course appeals to a range of different skill levels and tastes. The fifth hole is Willodell Golf Club's most difficult par 3 with trees right and left and a frontal bunker that forces a full carry to the green, which is also bunkered on both sides with grassy lateral hazards that sit beyond the sand.

Great course
I would recommend playing this course to family and friends. Worth making the drive out to Niagara. Greens were in excellent condition. Fun to play the first few holes starting out with two par 5 and still followed by a third par 5 on the front nine. Gets you warmed up quickly. Beautifully tree lined fairways and great speedy greens! I'm definitely interested in playing here again.
Course has above average fairways and surprisingly fast greens
Fairly flat layout until the last 5 holes. Well-kept fairways, greens, tees and bunkers. Most trouble is in front of you and course plays as you see it. Last 5 holes may be the shortest but may prove to be the toughest with the elevation changes and strong movement to the right. This last stretch keeps your attention and provides a strong finish to your round. Fairly large greens with some movement and rather quick that putted true. Good value and good pace of play - nice course.
Traditional track of parkland beauty
I have been playing this course fore years. It remains one of my favourite "go-to" tracks. The greens are of the best in Niagara - always have been. The course is wonderfully manicured. It is an enjoyable round in a park land environment albeit ridden with 'tourists' who tend to slow the round down to waiting on almost every hole on the back 9. It's a good thing I'm not in a hurry to get off a beautiful golf course as Willowdell...
Always in good shape.
With the current crunch in the golf industry some semi-privates are cutting back on conditioning to save money. If they are cutting back here it is not evident. Staff are friendly. Pace of play always good Play here quite often and never have had a bad experience. Challenging enough for the low handicapper but still playable to high handicap.
Willowdale
The course is well maintained.
Greens are small.
Difficult == many holes.
Restaurant --- SLOW -- 45 minutes for 3 cheeseburgers and a poutine.
And we told them that we needed to get back out there to finish the back 9.
And the restaurant was not busy at all.
So slow that I would say totally unacceptable.
Golf is good just dont eat there.
very nice course
Everything was A plus, with the exception of the beer cart girl. Not friendly or efficient. But, maybe just a bad day for her. Definitely a great course on every level otherwise.
Good Value for the money
Good course with great staff and each hole had uniuqe challenges. First course I played in the region. Interesting to see how it might compare
Excellent mid range course
It's not The National, but it's far from a dog track. Very good value.
Excellent vaule!
Greens and fairways in excellent condition. Traps and ponds, not so much (we don't belong there anyhow). Personally, I don't like the "corrugated" fairways, but have learned to tolerate that part.
Food prices OK, but "To Go" sandwiches were made from very dry/stale bread--not great. I'll play it again, but bring my own lunch.
Great Course
Nice shape of the course and a nice layout. Not too challenging but just hard enough to be fun. Lots of go for it decisions. Greens in great shape! Tree-lined fairways just sparse enough to find your ball easily but still hamper your shot getting out. Just the right amount of trees that you can get lucky and have a shot out sometimes, or you have punch it out. It was a little slow but it was worth it. I will be playing this course again for sure. I will be going here instead of Legends from now on! Oh yeah and the price is great too!!
good day with few minor scratches
couple negetives but nothing that takes away from the course, no score cards just a printed paper which was very annoying and other players being non courteous
Well maintained course.
A midrange course with some challenges, but lots of wide open fairways.
Great course for a relaxing round of golf.
Staff very friendly and accommodating
Would recommend to play here.
Nice course but....
If you have more than 5 hours to spare this is the course for you. I know it was Father's day weekend, but a foursome with Carts should not take 5 hours for 18 holes.
We started over 20 mins after our scheduled tee time anyway, the course itself was in good condition, fair tee boxes, great fairways, and even fast greens. I won't be rushing back to this course I'm afraid.
great course
Nice greens great condition
Tight fairways lots of trees
