Willodell Golf Club of Niagara
About
Willodell Golf Club of Niagara is neighbored by Lyon Creek to one side and Tee Creek to the other. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills covered with mature trees, which border the undulating fairways. Several ponds and two creeks come into play on 10 holes. There are numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with in addition to the water hazards. The layout features a mix of driving holes, strategic holes, and some tough par 3s. Being so diverse, the golf course appeals to a range of different skill levels and tastes. The fifth hole is Willodell Golf Club's most difficult par 3 with trees right and left and a frontal bunker that forces a full carry to the green, which is also bunkered on both sides with grassy lateral hazards that sit beyond the sand.

Willodell of Niagara
The course was in nice shape. Par 5's felt like they played long sometimes. It was a nice golf course that had some fun holes and some challenging holes.
Nice clubhouse with all the amenities. Showers were very clean. Could have used another restroom on the course.
I will go back again anytime. Would recommend it to anyone.
In great shape, annoying fairways
This course is in great shape. Unfortunately the fairways are simply terrible, driving the cart along them requires some extra cushion for your backside. It seems as if the course was built on an old vineyard judging by the nasty hills throughout all of the fairways. even a solid drive up the middle is penalized by nasty lies amongst these "bumps". Staff was excellent, I would never in a million years pay full price for this course though, golfnow deals are the only way I will be back. Pace of play was also terrible, the starter advised the owner had 24 people go out that day and it slowed us to a crawl.
Course is consistently good
Great value for the golfnow hot deal rate! The course is always in good shape, very consistent upkeep. It would be nice if you could access the range before your round, was told by staff that "range isn't included with the golfnow price ".....odd considering the minimal cost to use a range. Aside from that, good value if under $35.
best shape in years
A challenging and demanding course. Course is in the best shape in years. Fast greens, tree lined fairways and plenty of water trouble keeps the golfer focused. A delight to play.
Nice Course and Great Value for the money
Enjoyed our round here very much. Greens we're fabulous, nice speed and very true. The course was a bit wet as there was a good thunderstorm the night before. Good test of golf, you have to keep the ball on target as there are tree lined fairways. Back nine favoured a left to right ball flight and Front nine went the opposite way, right to left. Was fun working the ball both ways. We will go back. Nice Clubhouse and facilities....impressive and only 7 minutes from home!! Sweet.....
Enjoyable,some fun challenges
The staff were professional & courteous . Overall it was a very nice round for my foursome. Would play there again fore sure .
Great course and facilities as well.
We required a tee-time for 8. After booking a 4-some on Golfnow, Willodell was very accommodating in fitting in another tee-time in an adjacent slot.
Course is in great shape and very challenging.
Will definitely continue to play this course and highly recommend to others.
Best 'course for value' in Niagara region
When taking into consideration quality of course vs price, this course might have the best ratio in Niagara. This course is always in great shape, tee to green. This course is near perfect for a bogey golfer...if playing well, can definitely break 90 by some strokes. If not, you'll be well over 90. Great mix of some tough holes, and some easier. Clubhouse is great. My only 2 issues are:
1) (minor): a few too many similar dogleg right holes
2) (major): the pace of play at this course has been an issue for us more often than not over the years, including this one. With all the emphasis on 'while we're young' lately, this course continues to tolerate slow play more than it should. Rangers, do your job! (or don't cram so many people into tee times)
Course was in great shape and weather was about perfect.
Played with three guys who also were there on golfnow. Had a great time with them as our games were about equal.
The course is in great shape !
The Management Especially A guy Named Mario has a Atttiude Problem .He thinks that only Members of the course have priveleges and not Players in a League every week or playing at least every week with a foursome doesn't qualify for you for any passes for a Stag and Doe for My Daughter so that will be the Last Time I 'll Play on their Course Because I'm Not Considered InTheir Class Of Members.
4 tee boxs offer plenty of challenges and looks
the course played great, the starter was friendly and helpful, great fairways with well maintained greens, course was in great shape.
Willodell
Was pleasantly surprised that the staff knew about golf now.com and was expecting me. So many times you show up with something from the internet and the staff has no clue. Was very surprised by this club and the course. Overall very impressed the only thing that could have been better was the weather...but thats never under our control.
Course in very good condition
The greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Old style course traps just okay.
Good Greens, well maintained course, large modern clubhouse
Arrived just in time due to traffic delays, but was warmly welcomed and sent immediately to the first tee, and was off within 5 mins, this course has a starter that is pleasant and informative as are all the staff here.
Course is pretty much straight away with most trouble visible but some hazards could be better marked . A suggestion would be to have a hole map at each tee as there are a couple of blind tee shots and lay up shots especially on the back nine.
The bunkers and greens where in great condition, the latter putting very evenly though a couple of them have a fair amount of slope to them.
While the course starts relatively easily the closing holes require both distance and accuracy to have any chance of making par.
Overall a very enjoyable course to play and the staff in both the pro shop and the restaurant make for a great experience.
Thanks Chuck and staff
I will definitely be back to play
