About
Willodell Golf Club of Niagara is neighbored by Lyon Creek to one side and Tee Creek to the other. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills covered with mature trees, which border the undulating fairways. Several ponds and two creeks come into play on 10 holes. There are numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with in addition to the water hazards. The layout features a mix of driving holes, strategic holes, and some tough par 3s. Being so diverse, the golf course appeals to a range of different skill levels and tastes. The fifth hole is Willodell Golf Club's most difficult par 3 with trees right and left and a frontal bunker that forces a full carry to the green, which is also bunkered on both sides with grassy lateral hazards that sit beyond the sand.

Price is good, course is not
Besides the good value for $30 walking, this course is not somewhere I would ever play again. Tee times are stacked 7 minutes apart. We teed off just after 9am and there was already several minutes wait on each tee. Can’t imagine playing here in the middle of the day. Starter told us we were up. We proceeded to tee off and the starter came back and yelled at us for following his instructions. Nothing like a starter power trip to start the day. It rained heavily the night before and expectedly the course was very wet. The course, however, was obviously already in poor condition. Tee boxes were destroyed. Holes were volcanoed. Next, the layout. Front nine is wide open. Back nine is target golf. Two nice holes on the course, which were obviously their photo holes, in way better condition than the rest. Do yourself a favour, go down the road to Rolling Meadows as the price is comparable- cheaper than Willodell in the summer.
Pure greens
Greens were in excellent condition and surprisingly quick for this time of year. Underrated course offering excellent bang for your buck.
DEFINITELY GIVE THIS COURSE A SHOT
They have a good course with a great staff. Course has a challenging layout but is still fun for golfers of all handicaps.
I recommend giving this course a try and you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to play this course in the Fall.
