Whirlpool Golf Course

Unbelievable slow pace of play. They have a starter who does nothing. They let me out as a single behind 3 full groups. Took me 2:30 to play the front alone cause none of the groups would let anyone faster passed them.

Played on a Monday afternoon (3 pm) and played in 3 hrs 45 min - excellent pace of play. I had played here about 30 years ago but only remembered one hole (2nd hole). We played at Whirlpool because Grand Niagara had no availability. We generally play Grand Niagara once or twice a year, so we looked forward to Whirlpool. Although we enjoyed playing it, it's a good notch BELOW Grand Niagara in terms of conditions and maintenance and layout. The bunkers at Whirlpool were disappointing, especially fairway bunkers. The greens were in great shape but quite slow. Although we enjoyed our round, we agreed that Grand Niagara was significantly better and would much rather play there. Whirlpool has some nice vistas and is a well laid out course by Stanley Thompson but could be much better with some TLC and better conditioning. This may not be possible being a municipal course. Very good pro shop staff as well as other staff (starters area & wait staff on patio deck for dinner).

I love going to play this course. Every summer for the last 5 years. Only problem is pace of play. Two foresomes in front for me as single and they didn’t let me play through till 11. It shouldn’t take 2 1/2 hours to play the front.

Excellent course, it’s a beautiful Stanley Thompson design. The course is in amazing condition, the greens are best that I’ve seen them. Finished 18 in just under 4 hours, and that was with a full tee sheet. Always a pleasure to play, highly recommended...

Cant say enough about this course. Immaculate and the wide fairways offer an enjoyable game...Pace of play was perfect...Give it a try - you will return again and again..

old fashioned parkland course layout. Fairways and greens were in very good shape - albeit with slower but hard greens. the layout and different tees accommodated all levels of play. Overall condition was great. Good value for the money.

One complaint: Pace of play was very slow (5:15 hrs). A marshal went around (saw once over 18 holes), but he was not helping the situation. On some tee boxes 3-4 groups waited to hit.

This course being public is often really busy on holidays so we were surprised by a sub 4 hour round. Course was in great shape considering all the rain we had. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Greens ran true and not just because a sank a 40 ft birdie on the first. Good choice for dinner after and craft beer.

Nice course, not super challenging holes with fairly forgiving landing spots off the tee but was in great shape. Greens could be faster bunkers could be better but fairways rough and tee blocks were all nice. Could do with a range to warm up but has a nice little chipping green with a first cut and bunker to get a feel for the track. Was 55 cart incl on Canada day which I'd say is solid value for a course of this quality. Would definitely go back.

Whirlpool is consistently good and has always been a favourite.

Booked a Hot Deal. Tried to use one or all four promotion codes. Did not accept. Cost was $81 a golfer! Could have paid $55 at the course.
