Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Short
Wish I played it years ago. Course is very short now
Course was in great shape with good fairways and quick greens. The only thing in poor condition was the bunkers.
Disappointing
The course is overall very dry. Too many holes back onto each other without adequate space. Despite the name there are few water features and those that are there are stagnant, algae-filled creeks with lots of critters.
There are many better maintained courses in the area.
Was very disappointed. If a course wants to charge over $100 to play , I feel I should have had a better experience!!! Signs and direction to certain holes was confusing and limited. Scorecards and hole # signs had no description of the hole which made for a confusing day for playing there for the first time. Did not see a course Marshall once! Our twosome was stuck behind a foursome of guys who resembled 4 frats members out of the movie ANIMAL HOUSE!!! Definitely wasn’t expecting that kind of atmosphere at an expensive course like Thundering Waters!!!
Would not recommend this course to any friends or acquaintances!!
Not worth the money charged
They gave up on traps. Overwatered in areas. Good course but $40 should be top end for this course.
It was okay
The good is the course was in decent shape, and the layout pretty good overall.
There are rumours this course is partially being sold off to housing development which is rampant in the area and it was a course that reflected that.
It is promoted as a John Daly course and other than the cardboard cut out of John when you go in the pro-shop there was nothing available in the way of merchandise to indicate such.
It really felt like a course that was prepping for its end. The greens were great but there is no practice area and for $80 a round you should be able to warm up.
Its an okay course.
Overall great experience
Played from the Tips.
Had a blast. Your starter is a gem. He was the very good at his job.
Beautiful Course
My son brought me for my birthday and we were paired up with a younger couple. I love this golf course. Some holes are a real challenge but still somewhat forgiving. My only criticism is the sand bunkers. They need a lot of sand added to make it perfect.
Bitterly Disappointing
I never write reviews for courses, but felt compelled to do so after this round. I also wrote the GM to share my concerns with him - one week later and no action yet.
Our back nine took over 3.5 hours to play. Had to wait on each tee box for 10-15 minutes, even after letting the group in front of us FINISH the hole. Felt like you were on the first tee every time. No flow to our game. Saw the Marshall at #1, but nothing improved.
Too bad - nice course but our future golf outings will not include this one.
Great layout
Interesting holes where the drive needs to be placed properly and greens rolled perfectly
Be Sure to Visit in Niagara
This is another example of one of the beautiful courses in the Niagara Region. Playing from the whites makes this course more of a tactical challenge, but there are 3 sets of blocks beyond that to challenge you long hitters.
