Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Awesome Course
Perfect condition and perfect for most level of players
Why is this course so waterlogged?
It's been a very dry couple of weeks, but had to play 'cart paths only' for most of the course, because it was so overwatered. Large swaths of fairway were torn up from trying to keep them cut. So many areas were simply unplayable. Cart paths flooded. Never seen so much casual water in the bunkers - during a drought! Non irrigated areas were bone dry and equally unsightly.
Also disappointing were the conditions in and around most of the bunkers. Unmanicured, and totally taken over with weeds.
To be fair, there are some very nice holes, which require strategic direction and club selection.
tight fairways
Liked the fact that one has to think about club selection off the tee. Would definitely play again.
Great course
This course is amazing. Very well groomed and in excellent. Highly recommend anyone to golf here.
Awesome course!
I haven't played this course in a few years and I'm glad I was able to play today's. The course was in excellent shape and well manicured. If I did have a complaint, it would be the course was wet in places. It didn't bother my round and I enjoyed that the tee boxes were terrific and you could stick the greens.
Will definitely be back back!
Could Be Better
I got a good hot deal so no complaints on the value.
This golf course could be beautiful. The individual holes are strong. But at present it is too compressed by the neighboring apartments and the routing is bizarre. The goflnow hot deal is fine but if you're playing full price there are better golf courses in the Niagara Falls area.
Enjoyed the pace and layout
Had a great time playing TWGC today. Had an early start and the pace of play was amazing. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape as the rain yesterday really helped to make things roll nicely.
The greens were responsive and the ball rolled nicely.
The only negative was the foursome that decided to jump in front of us after hole 9. I actually had to call the pro shop (no sign of a Marshall to move play) to complain about the slow play and the fact that they jumped in front of us. But they remedied the situation after a three hole inconvenience.
Finished the 18 holes in 3.5 hours and a really fun layout. Know your yardage’s off the tee or else you’ll loose quite a few balls in the wrong places.
Great deal
Course was fun and challenging. Tee boxes and carts could use some work but all in all pretty nice day.
Great experience
Played here a couple times and always a fun rewarding challenge. Staff is amazing and friendly.
Fun, challenging course
First time playing this course. It was a challenging course but laid out very well. The grounds were well maintained and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Did not feel rushed to play. Great vacation golf.
Nice course at Thumdering water
Tees off at 7:15 am, overall enjoyed the round, green condition was excellent,, new condo construction going on, hope they keep the course around for future enjoyment.
Thundering Waters Not
Pace of play was horrible up to six deep on tee box . Staff in capable of managing a small tournament . Sand traps were not maintained and most were water traps.
Would never recommend this coarse to anyone value for the money very poor.
Not for everyone
Although the course was severely wet, it was enjoyable. In general, the holes are quite short, but don’t be fooled, the fairways are very narrow with numerous bunkers. The greens were in excellent condition, they were receptive with a true roll. The course forces you to think about every tee shot. Some would refer to this as “target golf”. If you have problems hit\ting a straight shot, then bring lots of golf balls.
Always slow play at this Course !
1. If you are handicap 13 or Lower should avoid this course, too many high handicap and looking for balls always slows down play.
2. They stuck us behind a 13 hole Shot Gun Tournament - They should inform GolfNow that the discounted rate is going to be behind a slow Tournament and a 5,5 hour round.
Never going back, this is the consensus from my Group.
Just OK
It was a bit disappointing to play this course after having played it years ago. Tee boxes were unkept, weeds and dandelions on the tees and fairways and the bunkers were almost unplayable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Greens were smooth but slow. Overall it was a 4/10.
Surprised
Most greens were firm and some fairways had run out; pleasantly surprised for this early into the season.
Appreciate the review, Chuck. We hope you'll come back and play again soon!
We love hearing from our golfers, but we apologize for your negative experience. We are happy that you took the time to leave us some feedback so we can improve in the future. We hope to have you back.
Thank you for your review. This Spring has been a challenge for the grounds with all of the rain and soggy conditions. Our bunkers are our top priority for the year.
