Brentwood Country Club
About
Brentwood is a 1980s-style course with narrow fairways, loads of out-of-bounds, and water in play on more than half the holes.
Two par 5s stand out on the front: the opening 540-yard eye-opener, and the 517-yard No. 6, considered the toughest hole of the front nine.
On the back, the par 5 530-yard 15th hole is rated as the most difficult.
Getting there : From I-10 east, take the Walden Rd. exit and turn left. Drive approximately 4 miles and turn left onto Major Dr. The course is .5 mile down the road, and the entrance is on the left side of the street.

CART INCLUDED ISSUE
WHEN ARRIVING AND CHECKING IN AT PRO SHOP I WAS INFORM THAT GN WEBSITE SAID CART NOT INCLUDED ON COMPUTER SCREEN. SHOW THEM A PHONE PICTURE OF IT THEY SAID IT HAPPENS ALLTHE TIME. IT DID HAPPEN BEFORE AT HENRY HOMBERG AND I HAD TO PAY FOR CART AGAIN. PLEASE CORRECT THIS ISSUE OR SO I DONT HAVE TO!!
Improving
I haven’t played this course in two years. The pace of play was excellent because I was playing on a soon to be rainy day and the course was already wet from previous rains. No fault of the course there. I di notice the greens are in much better condition and around the greens as well. Fairways were hard to judge because of the standing water. Looks like they are making strides here as it used to be ragged and sparse fairways that were like concrete. I’ll return after the monsoon season.
Good value
Nice course for the value, even at regular price. Not very friendly at pro shop. I asked questions because it was my first time there. I asked if I could drive cart to parking lot.
Worth the Time
I been golfing in Beaumont for four years and disappointed I did not play here sooner.
Horrible shape
Was told by staff that course was in ok condition, it was actually terrible condition I'm not sure how it stays open, greens, fairway and cart path all in sad shape.
Making progress
This used to be the course in Beaumont open to the public known for the layout and GREENS. It's not in the shape it once was but it was night and day from where it was 3 months ago. I would play here again the greens need alot of work but you can tell the work is being put in to get the course somewhat back to where it was and was worth the price paid to play. Green fees 20 years ago were $50 to $60 with cart ID have no problem paying $50 a round with cart to see it how it once was but it does show progress is being made.
Please work on your greens
I like playing this course and would say it’s one of the better layouts in the area. The greens need work though, they seem to get smaller and more crab grass every time we try to play. They don’t seem to mow them like some of the other courses in the area. We played several that had water coming up like it had just rained and this was at 2 in the afternoon in a drought. We also had a problem with the golf now reservation with the worker sayin they did not charge us for the cart. He said he would let it slide this time so buyer beware. I’m not planning on playing here again for a while. Just disappointed in what could be a great course. They are doing maintenance to some of fairways.
Fun course bad greens
This course is fun to play but the greens leave something to be desired. The grass on the greens looks like a mix of crab grass and whatever the grass for the green is supposed to be. The fairways look great and the course is challenging just wish they would improve the greens. The new carts are great and the staff is very helpful
Disappointed
Used to love this course 10-15 years ago but man it’s gone downhill. Looks like that quit spending money on course.
Decent Course
The course has potential to be great. The course was just mowed but the clipped grass was left on the fairway. The greens were being aerated so they were very slow and unreadable.
Pasture pool
Front nine greens unplayable over sanded uneven, fairways grass uncut, back nine greens were not in better shape. No warning from club house before play.
not going back
don't know how course stays open. Clumps of cut grass in every fairway. Grass was high in some fairways, sand traps unplayable. Been waiting years for this course to get better don"t see this happening
