Golfer Reviews
in play the way
Great time of year ,great track for challenge golf .Lots to consider . Today too hot ,31c , thankful for a cart .
Definite good choice and look forward to next attempt to lower score .
If it's your first round here expect a score 5-10 strokes higher by the end of your round , (10+ handicap).
Booked on GOLFNOW .
CV19 rules in effect made for comfortable pace .
Most comments on survey were not reviewed or completed due to CV19 .
Challenging course but amazing views and the course was in great condition. The elevation of some of the tee’s is something you rarely see, and makes for a fun round.
Hockley Rocks
Course was in great shape. It’s very hilly with spectacular views and some serious drops from tee to green. Staff are very friendly and tee time spacing makes you feel like the only group out there. Worth the 90 minute drive to get there and will be back soon.
Too much up & Down. Really tough course to play.
Unless You have Stamina to walk a lot uphill & downhill. Cant even take golf cart in most of the area.
Will never go again.
All things considered with all we all are going through, a perfect round of golf. Nice to get out and get fresh air.
Good Round at Hockley Valley
Always wanted to play and finally did. Went by myself and was placed with another twosome. What you see is what you get with the course. No tricks. Narrow fairways. No bunkers but very thick rough. Narrow greens. Need to find short stuff or you have no choice but to lay up. Course was in good condition except for a few tees boxes. Greens rolled well. Pace of play was good except for a group of 4 ahead of us that decided to really take their time. Would have loved to stay for food afterwards but COVID says otherwise. Would definitely come back!
Spectacular views
Great views of the surrounding area & the par 3’s are spectacular. A unique experience & well worth the visit. An emphasis on accuracy & keeping the ball in play to have a chance of scoring well. I will definitely play again especially in the fall.
Hockley Valley Resort Course
The Course itself was in Great shape .... pins were put in very accessible locations .... only constructive criticism I have was that the Greens were a little slow .... given the fact the course hasn't been open long they get a Mulligan for that .... overall course conditions were excellent ..... Staff friendly and attentive ... told about Procedures in place ..... Carts were throughly cleaned and Sanitized ..... felt safe and comfortable .... my friend and I through online booking were paired with another twosome .... Great guys .... great banter between the 4 of us .... Social distancing measures between us in place ...... outstanding day .... I will be back ..... Bravo to Hockley and to GolfNow ....
Harder than it looks on the score card
Hardest 5200yard course, I’ve ever played. No easy holes.
Average course that needs more care
Hidden deep in west side of GTA, the golf course claims it is a "must play" in GTA. Double as a resort and skiing place, first impression when we got into the compound was not very positive. while some staff were friendly but others were on the edge of rude. Due to the COVID-19, there were a few extra rules to follow, but then the staff broke them anyways, but grapping IDs from us, talking to us in close distance. The car path badly need a make-over. The condition on the green was OK, but the fairways were full of divots, not well maintained.
You can surely find better deal for your money somewhere else.
Fantastic
What a great coarse very challenging and very well kept I will for sure golf here again
First round since the lockdown
Played on “opening” day.
Course condition was outstanding for opening day.
Greens are 5/10 for speed.
Single person per cart use. Pace was slow as a result but not because of others in front but by time required to all drive a cart.
I’ll be back soon.
Excellent Golf
Hockley Valley Resort is always a great day of golf. Course is in great shape. Delicious meal after.
Ken runs the Pro Shop and is always there,he is awesome.
Best course in the area
Hockley Valley Golf Course Review
Played on what is probably the last week of the golf season for 2019. Lots of leaves (as to be expected) which made finding balls (even in the fairway) challenging.
Lots of rain during the previous few days created some "mushy" areas but greens were in good condition for the time of year. Although the ball definitely does not travel as far in the cooler fall air, the scenery makes it always nice to play this particular course at this time of year.
Always a challenge requiring use of virtually every club in your bag.
