Great course

Played today with my wife, joined into a 4some.

For a Saturday morning on a busy links course the pace of play was good. Very scenic and challenging. I would suggest this course to most skill levels, I'm a 17 handicap and if I could get another crack at this course I would jump at it. Some of the holes are played quite blind if you haven't played before or not playing with people that have.

Amenities around the course are excellent.

Great Course. Pristine conditions.

Fully enjoyed the course. Well maintained. Pace of play was a bit over 4.5 hours. Drive was far though, might consider stay and play next time.

Confusing but good!

The course was in decent shape overall, however the greens were a bit slow to say the least. I can't remember the hole but there is a par 3 that we had no idea that someone was on the tee and we drove directly in front of them. I would suggest a flag system indicating that someone is teeing off.... The hole was on the back. Other than that nice round of golf!

Very Tough Course

I would like to challege this course one more time or more. I've been playing GRA courses and hardest course ever played recelty. There are almost 18 holes hidden greens and narrow fairways so it requires accuracy. Thick rough and tall grasses killed my score this time. Greens are unreal.

Nice And Tight

The biggest challenge - Stay in the fairways. Be sure too carry a few extra balls.
Love playing Hockley Valley.
Will definitely play here again.
Having split hooves helps.
A rollercoaster of a ride.
Keep up the great work - a ton of work for the grounds keepers too have the coarse looking the way it does.
A must play this season. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your golf experience at Hockley Valley Resort. We are always pleased to hear that our guests love to play here. I will pass along the good word to our Superintendent and his crew as they work very hard to maintain our playing area and are often overlooked. Hope to see you back soon.
Thanks once again.

Tricky track

Some really nice holes, every par 3 has an elevation factor so it was fun to play, it was a nice change and challenge on club selection. The pro shop charged me more than the price agreed on golf now but I didn't bring my print out. Would play again but on a weekday.

Enjoyed the day.

This is a beautiful, scenic course. The staff were excellent, from the pro shop to the starter, to the marshall, and the waitress after our game.

Fairways were very tight, and going into the rough was most likely a lost ball. They were a bit to narrow for my liking, and I'm an 11 handicap. There are may holes with a significant carry required off the tee, which was fine for me, but almost cruel for the novice golfers in the group.

Overall it was a great day, but I'd hesitate to take a newer golfer there. If you do go, take extra balls.

Challenging course

Registered for a 5.20pm tee off time - twosome cost $29.99 each but after arriving at the course we where charged extra for a golf cart which was mandatory. Overall the total cost was the same as booking on my own with a cart.

A little disappointing

While all of our guests take a cart due to the elevation and terrain all of our green fees at Hockley Valley Resort include cart rental. Upon reviewing our records there is no transactions that have an extra charge for a power cart that day. If you would like to contact us in person to discuss this in any more detail we can be reached at the Proshop at 519-942-0754.

Excellent day on the links and in mid season shape

The course was in mid season form...greens rolled true and fairways were firm and fast. Pace of play was excellent and made for an extremely enjoyable day.

Quite the contrast from what we have all experienced playing in the southern GTA this spring...I urge you to go play Hockley, it's absolutely worth the drive.

Very challenging

This is one challenging track. The constant elevation changes and beautiful vistas make this a round to enjoy(even when you lose a ton of balls). Even more spectacular in the fall.

Gotta be a mountain goat !

Poor conditions. Way too many blind shots. Just because you make a golf course tough it doesn't mean it's fun. Not going back.

Just ok

My two friends and I decided to get out of the GTA for our rounds of golf this year, rather than playing city courses. We booked on golfnow and the round cost us about $60 riding tax included which is a fair price compared to Toronto courses. The course was in pretty rough shape and the pace of play was pretty slow even for a weekend. We won't be back as we can get better value for out money elsewhere.

Great place to play

Great course. Very challenging. Fantastic scenery. Friendly people. Only regret is that I've lived 20 minutes away for 20 years and have never played the course before. Looking forward to my next visit, as are the rest of the group.

Great Start!

First outing of the season with no course dissapointments. Fairways and greens are in mid season form. The rolling terrain and beautifull vistas combined with "PGA" style par 3s make Hockley Valley a must play for any golfer.

challenging course

Don't be fooled by the distance as this course can spoil your day if you do not select the right tee. The course was in good condition thank to the professional work of the staff. You have to stop by the 19th hole after the game. I will be back!
