Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Excellent, except.....
It would have been a perfect day had it not been for the marshalllng. Our group were told to speed up play. Our group completed the round in about 4 hours 20/25. I believe that pace of place is fair when one considers the slope and stroke rating of the course..
Rating would have been EXCELLENT otherwise. A bit unfair to penalize the pro-shop and restaurant staff.
Great course
Very challenging. Tee boxes are flat . fairways are as smooth as greens . beautiful scenery always a good round.
Neglected maintenance
This used to be such a nice course. It's still a challenging and interesting layout but the condition was very poor. Bunkers have been neglected for the whole season and from tee box to greens, the course was in bad shape. I've played it several times every year since it opened and with Covid pandemic the place is busiest it's been in it's 15 history. Revenue must be at it's highest and yet there is almost no staff to be found anywhere. Very disappointing and even sad to see it get this bad. No chance I'd play it again.
A good test of your golf game.
Otter Creek can be very challenging. I would suggest you think carefully about which tee you use. Having played here many times in the past, I now choose the white -red combo. There are just some white tees for me that are just not fun so the particular reds are much more enjoyable and offer a challenge for pars and possibly even a birdie. Hole 13 is ridiculous - the green slopes severely from front to back and even the most experienced golfers have trouble holding the green. The greens roll true and are quick. It was a fun day with good friends.
Great Course
Course is in great condition. they just finished hosting an amateur tournament. green were smooth and fast.
I wish the scorecard had more information
Would have like some guidance to avoid hazards. If not for some tips or warnings by a club member golfing with us., the course would have been a lot more frustrating.
Golf and amenities
The golf course itself is very nice and challenging. Hard to figure out hole 18 is the 18th handicap hole. The second shot is close to 200 yards shooting over a ravine.
Disappointed with lack of food available. The cart girl had no sandwiches and we were told there was a bbq available after 9 holes. Could not find it or see anyone around.
Bring extra balls
Very tight, very attractive course. Hit it straight.
Hard to beat value.
Nearly a 2 hr drive from Niagara, and well worth it. Ive been 3 times over 4 yrs and love it! Challenging course for planning shots. Could really use a course guide or a course map on the back of scorecards though for unfamiliar players. Pace was great, conditions were amazing. Food is top notch. Best onion rings I've ever had!!
