Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Just as expected, glad I played
This is my first time playing here and I definitely will return. I heard about this course many years ago. It’s 75 min drive has been my reason. I should have played along time ago. For the price, it is an excellent course. Greens were in very good shape. Knowing the layout i would play it differently next time. Only set back is we had a slow group in front of us and we never saw a Marshall. Cart girl was frequent, bonus!
Great Experience with a good friend
We booked through golf now for the 7:10am tee time and got there on time to play. Only 2 of the 4 of us could make it out for the tee time. The young gentleman in the clubhouse informed us that we had booked just before they had switched to the 8am early start time. He said no issue and said “The greens are sticking but rolling nice, and take your time on the putting green, you have no one behind you for almost an hour” There seemed to be no issue that we were essentially making these people show up an hour early to cater to us. The starter maybe wasn’t his regular ,try to talk you out of playing the blue tees self, but really everyone was really friendly and great. It was an amazing round, and the course was in great shape. Although we both didn’t play very well in general, the experience was unique and we had a great time in general. It’s tough for sure, and a great layout. Definitely worth the small amount more than the average course. Great value there.
Great potential
The course is challenging for all skill level of golfer. It's picturesque layout and tricky greens make it a fun/ frustrating course to play. The only down side is the condition of the fairways. So many unrepaired divots. A marshal on the course to remind players to fix their divots and ball marks would be a valuable addition.
Awesome course
Had an awesome round at otter creek. Course is absolutely gorgeous, great layout even better condition. Only negative from the day was the starter, he was an absolute dick to the group in front of us because 1 of their guys wasn’t ready (there was a thunderstorm that just passed so everyone was just getting back out) but aside from that it was an awesome round.
Slow
Five hours on a hot Saturday is too long to enjoy the round. The course was putting twosomes off and it really slowed the pace. It is a tough course and having some guidance would have helped. At $75 per player with cart it was a fair priced round. This course hosted the Canadian Amateur so it’s no slouch.
I would play again just maybe during the week
Course Not being maintained well
Not being maintained well. I have played this course many times and used to love this course but I played it today and it is not in a well-maintained condition bunkers are not being raked even though we’re not allowed to rake them the management should still rake them overnight also the fairways had too many divots which are not being repaired or seeded. Number 16 fairway is terrible. Very disappointed
Very disappointed that the sand traps had not been raked. Terrible shape. Also some fairways were in bad shape. The course has deteriorated since I played it last year. Will not be going back this season, nor would I recommend it.
Bring your A game
If you are struggling with your game, this course will eat you up. Very "target golf" setup. Not forgiving at all. I would play here again but the others in my group are undecided or say they would play other places for the same price.
Not sure if they offer walking but if they do, don't! Long walks between holes.
Wanted to play Otter Creek for years
At long last played Otter Creek. Great mix of carved out of the woods holes, links-style holes , and challenging carries over deep raviines. Perhaps not to everyone's taste but great fun if you can hit it long and straight, which is not me anymore, but I still enjoyed it immensely.
P.S. I put down Advanced but I wanted to add "in age".
COVID or not
Bunkers filled with tall weeds, great course but you could run the tractor through it . Good pace of play ,but the fair way divots in need of attention . For the money the course was sub par today ..
Very disappointed
We have played this course many times and today found the conditions to be very poor. Bunkers were hardly touched. Tees seemed not cut. Greens had been punched Recently and were very slow. Tremendous amount of divots in landing areas.
Not worth the full price paid today for sure.
Won't be returning until we hear some good reports.
Otter Creek... Soon to be the 30 dollar course.
The only thing worse than the golf carts provided was the condition of the sand traps.... for shame !
