Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Surprise Round
I'm 71 years old so don't hit the ball the way I used to. Got linked to a 3-some including two young guys (mid-30s) and a 60 year old. They were all good golfers (especially one of the young guys so because they wanted to play the blue blocks;I played the blue blocks.Anyway I liked the challenge and really enjoyed playing with golfers above my level who actively were positive about my play. Fun to watch the young guys play the course as it should be played.Fun for me to up my intensity level and try to keep at least close to the guys. All in all a fun day-not just for me but the other three enjoyed the round too. Good to step up sometimes and reach a little. Thanks guys!
What a beauty!
Drove over an hour to play this course on a perfect weather day. What a beauty! Given the heat and dry conditions this July, the fairways were beautiful and lush. Only a couple of greens showed damage … but mostly in great shape. Great layout and variety, but be sure to choose the tee-boxes that are best suited for your game, otherwise you'll be frustrated. Pace of play was slow given that groups were playing from the wrong tee-boxes. Play this course once a year and always love it. Staff are very friendly. Worth the drive from anywhere!
Surprised No Cart Girl on Course .Otherwise totally enjoyable .
Tough Championship Course
Otter Creek is a PGA championship course with a great mix of Links and Parkland holes.
You had better bring your A game or a basket full of balls as fairways are narrow and well protected with deep bunkers and heavy rough.
The grooming of the course is excellent with the only negative for me being the course sand in the bunkers
Otter Creek
The staff were very friendly and the course was in
great shape.
Tees fairways in good shape. Greens were slow and uneven to bumpy with some bare areas They were as bad as I have seen them.
It's worth the trip!
I've now played OtterCreek 3 times in the past 3 weeks. Each and every experience has been positive. Love the layout and degree of challenge. Course condition is in great shape. Excellent range to warm up on before playing your round. Staff is friendly and courteous. Be sure to make right club selection on approach shots as most if not all greens are elevated with false fronts. Good variety of tee boxes for both men and women. Take the time to sit out on the patio post-match and enjoy a cold beverage or two while watching play on the 18th hole. The only downfall is I wish it was closer to Kitchener/Waterloo. :)
Disappointing
First I have to say pro shop staff, starter, food and beverage servers were great.
The course was very disappointing especially the greens.
Not sure if the recent weather has made it difficult for maintenance staff to maintain the greens, but they were easily the worst greens I've played in a long time. They were thick, slow, rough and contain numerous bare spots.
There are to many other course out there to consider going back.
To bad...
Greens need work
The pro shop staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. The clubhouse was under staffed and we were unable to get service as they were busy talking to a foursome on the patio and didn't enquirer as to what we needed, despite looking our way several times. The greens were bumpy causing putts to bounce and go off line on many occasions. I played the course when it first opened and have sadly noted the conditions seem to go down slightly every year. The layout is fantastic and the course is a challenge, which I like. I was also disappointed that the range does not seem to be included in the fee any longer. Pace of play was slow, waiting on every hole and two todo mess waiting behind us almost every hole.
Favourite
Awesome course . The greens aren't there yet but other than that awesome course.
Pace of play , Terriible (6 hours)
Booked for 930 am tee off (father's day) . Came from Kitchener to play a beautiful layed out course, but my first time experience was ruined by a couple of of beginner golfers. They backed up the course and there was no marshall to control pace of play. Sunday am golf is for skilled players and controlled pace of play. 3 out of the 18 greens need major help. Hope to go back and play a proper timed round.
Almost perfect.
What a gem. Best fairways and tee decks I’ve played on for a public course.. unfortunately the greens were tough but only because they were in rough shape often missing grass in some spots. If they can restore there greens to playable they would get a 5 star rating across the board. Staff seemed to be a bit tired in the morning or maybe shy.
I will come back and highly recommend this course.
Plays tight.
Course is challenging and plays very tight. Club management is key. Greens where a little rough on some holes, and bunkers where like concrete, pace of play was good. Overall this course is very nice, will be back to be punished yet again by Otter Creek.
Raincheck
We were rained out after 9 holes. Courses gave out rainchecks but since we booked through golf now we couldn't get a raincheck. Golf now doesn't give out rainchecks after your round starts. This alone is going to deter us from using golf now in the future.
