Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Pure goodness
This is one of finest golf course in ontario. I enjoyed everything including club house food.....I can't wait to play again in this beautiful course. I recommend this to anyone who plays golf. I can compare this one to Rocky Crest or Cobble Beach golf club....
Disappointed
I've been to this course when it was in better shape. The greens still had airation holes from last year. ( very rough ). It's truly a beautiful course when kept better.
No Bad Rounds
Regardless of the fact that the season is still early and the greens are aerated it's still a joy to play this course and challenge yourself against the layout.
The staff is unfailingly polite, both in the pro shop and from the staff out working the course.
A beautiful course to play!
We were very impressed with the course and the layout was excellent. The staff were pleasant and very accommodating.
The tee boxes and fairways are very well groomed. The greens were recently aerated but we know tjat it will ne a wonderful course to return to.
Thanks for a terrific afternoon.
Otter never disappoints!
Great Layout.
The winds were angry this day my friends! Not what you need when playing Otter.
Fairways were mint & dry. Greens coming along.
Staff was friendly.
Love this course. Best value in South Western Ont!
Man vs.Nature
Played Otter Creek on Wednesday. Wasan't aware that the wind was going to be howling. Changed the way I normally play to accommodate the wind.
Took a whole new thought process on each hole except 8 which is sheltered.
Helped on #4 though-played downwind so drive stopped on fringe-putted from fringe and lipped out for what would have been an eagle.
Pro shop staff very helpful and courteous.
Course and Staff are incredible.
Otter Creek is challenging, yet, enjoyable for various player levels. The tee boxes and greens had been aerated and dressed, so, they weren’t in perfect condition, but the fairways were great and the rough was very manageable. That won’t last! Once it fills in, it will penalize you for wayward swings. I have no doubt the course will be immaculate in a couple weeks. The course is one of my faves in the area and the staff in the pro shop and dining room always take care of you. If I lived in the area, I would be a member without hesitation.
nice course
We have played the course many times over the years and have enjoyed the
experience. This time the course was aerated with gravel used as a filler and
putting was very very unpleasant. Because of the green conditions we should
have been told about aeration and that the greens were wretched and given a discounted rate to play. There were no sand in the bottles to repair golf
shot divots and the course desperately needed sand to repair as we saw thousands
of divots needing work. The sand bunkers had staff cleaning out the weeds which is a
nice gesture but when done the job they left the 100 footprints without raking after themselves. We could see the imprints from the pails they used to clean up the weeds.
Overall for May 1 the experience sucked.
Otter Creek WIns Again
Played Otter for the first time in 2018-and likely the 30th time I've played the course. Being opening day the greens had been aerated and fertilized and the traps were nt at their best but the fairways are rounding nicely into shape and the work crews were out manicuring the fairways and around the greens.
Nice pace of play and a great way to begin my golf season. Otter staff as always unfailingly polite and friendly.
Hidden Gem
Played this course on a recommendation from a friend and loved it. I played the course at the beginning of the season so conditions were not the greatest especially the greens. However, I was able to see the potential and this course is great. A must play on your list.
Check it out.
great course for someone who can hit a long ball
I am 66 years old and have a hard time hitting over 200 yards. I played from the shorter white tees and still found the course very challenging. For nov. 6 the course was in great shape. For a good golfer who drives 250 yards or more it would be a lot of fun. The front nine and back nine are like two completely different courses. One is a links course and the other a more traditional treed course. For the golfer who plays 5400 yard courses and shoots in the low to mid 80's playing this course would bring you back to reality. Keep practicing!
Far Away Gem
A really nice course tucked almost in the middle of nowhere! Further away than usual and a little more time to get to but it is worth the effort. Holes are challenging and the layout makes you think you're the only ones on the course.
Almost end of season so the top-dressing and aerated greens were tough and not enough staff to move the slowpokes in front but in season, this is a must play.
Every Shot has to be Perfect
Unless you are a scratch player this course will not be fun to play.
The staff at the halfway house were bordering on rude.
The back nine greens had been verti-cut and we were not told of this.
Hidden gem
In the middle of nowhere is this wonderful golf course. Fun to play, lots of choices of tee boxes for every level of golfer, and of course too many players attempt to play the "big boy tees" which slows down the pace of play. Still, well worth the drive and you can't beat the value.
Best Kept Secret in Southwestern Ontario
This course is by far and away the best value in Southwestern Ont. Located in the small town of Otterville. This course is well designed and is kept in great condition. It plays at all levels of difficulty depending on the tees played. I found this course a couple of years ago and is one of my favourites. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
You Must Play This Course
Worth the drive, a course in great condition. Best tee blocks anywhere (and I play a lot). Fairways are undulating/curves/slopes. This really is a fine course. The staff are great, Cody in particular that I dealt with me, and I should mention the Starter is excellent..
Beautiful
Every hole is worthy of a photo.. Beautiful place.
Definitely coming back.
Thanks for your comment, we are sorry you didn't have a good experience at Otter Creek. Mother Nature as I'm sure you are aware of has not been kind to anyone this spring. The aeration you speak of was from last November thus the fact the staff didn't warn you, it's not our intent to mislead any of our patrons. The so called gravel you speak of is actually a rock phosphate fertilizer and turkey compost .. unfortunately the weather conditions to date have not been conducive to fantastic growth thus we still see the aeration holes and the fertilizer is not being covered in the turf canopy. Not much we can do about that situation as we are at the mercy of the weather. As for your comment regarding the sand bottles and divots we are awaiting our spring load of compost to fill these bottles ... we agree with you that there are many divots that are in need of repair .. these are the remnants of last seasons play and cannot be blamed on anyone except your fellow golfers that fail to replace and repair as they play. Our student workforce has just arrived and we're in the process of preparing our bunkers for the season. We appreciate your comments but you must understand that we are very early in the golf season and as such the conditions are spring conditions and should not be used as any comparison to our normal in season conditions. We are sorry you perceive our conditions as "sucking" but our calendar here states spring and we are lucky to be open and playing golf. Lets keep things in perspective for the weather we've had to date. Our rates at the moment are reflective of the spring and are discounted as such. Thanks again for your comments and we trust you will return and enjoy the conditions you are used to at Otter Creek
