Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Hidden gem
Im surprised Otter Creek isnt more famous in Ontario. Great value, course is very well kept. Very challenging and lots of changes in elevation. This is one of my favourite courses now and I will be playing again. Warning, if you hate fescues the front 9 has plenty.
Slow play
Play was slow. No course Marshall to speed up groups. No response from pro shop staff. Greens ok, very patchy.
Great time playing yourcourse
We love the course,it is great shape the staff in the pro shop are excellent. The girls in the coffee lounge could use some people skills training.
We appreciate your feedback and Thank you for visiting Otter Creek. Our caterer as with most operations is training new seasonal staff in customer service. We appreciate your letting us know and we are working on those skills
Great Value
Great deal from Golf Now . Fun track to play and in good condition considering the weather we had prior to playing . We paired up with two others that made the day totally enjoyable experience .
We appreciate your comment and hope to see you again.
Very nice coarse
Very nice design and layout some holes are very tight. Plays long from the tips
Great challenge
The course was in pretty good condition for being early in the season. A couple fairway bunkers were weedy and the greens were a bit bumpy but the rest of the course was in great shape.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your coming out to Otter Creek. We have prepared all bunkers on the property now, we were letting the few weeds grow to a level that we could best eradicate them. Spring golf will sometimes provide bumpy surfaces as the Poa Annua gets a jump on our predominate bentgrass greens. Hope you come back and see us again
Otterville golf course
Excellent coarse great rate. Very challenging. If your not a huge distance hitter would recommended hitting from the whites. Very dry for this time of year do to the drainage system. Coarse in great condition, can't wait to play again.
Love this place
I couldn't believe my luck when I saw this course offered for 10 bucks (with a cart!) plus weather conditions that were fantastic (Sunny and 10 degrees); booking my time was a no brainer. If you get a chance to play this course you absolutely must. One of the best designed courses in all of southwestern Ontario. The staff were friendly and courteous, and I got around the course in less than three hours. If you get a chance to play this course, you absolutely must!
Awesome time
Had a awesome time playing this course and would go back anytime .
a gem that needs some love!
Excellent design - but unfortunately the upkeep is not there. Fairways good, bunker quality varies from hole to hole as does the sand.
Greens were very slow - did not appear to be cut regularly and some had alot of burnt areas.
This course has alot of potential but I am assuming being somewhat far away from large urban centres, it does not have the draw.
We came from the Hamilton and Burlington areas and was over an hour drive.
We won't be coming back any time soon as there alot of courses closer, with good value, design and in much better shape.
What happened?
This used to be one of the premier public golf courses in Ontario. Now, it appears as though maintenance was non existent. Bunkers had t been raked in weeks. Greens were terribly slow and really stressed. Not a good look.
Experience
Not a big fan of how they choose not to maintain the sand but other than that a great track. Tee blocks are perfect
Great layout
Great course . You have to bring your A game to this course . Not a friendly course for the high handicapper.
Its a Gem
Worth the extra 15min drive.
Don't lose focus!
This course is really nice. It's definitely a course you need to think about where you want your shot to land. Fairways and greens are the best I've seen at any course this year, especially since it's been so hot and dry outside. The layout is fantastic and it's a great challenge.
Great day
Played on a Saturday and course was in great shape. Even with dry summer fairways and greens excellent.
This is a great track but I would not recommend to a beginner or high handicapper. For everyone else it's a great test of golf.
A real gem
Course was every bit`amazing from start to finish like I was told prior to playing. Hazards are well positioned to challenge your shot placement and the course conditions were fantastic. I will say this course would benefit greatly by having GPS on there carts so you have a better idea of tee shot selections and potential lay up shots due to course design.
Like most public course sand traps need work.
Overall I would play this course as much as possible and with the current price point it's almost unbeatable. I can see this course sky rocketing in price at some point and it still would be well worth it.
Slightly rough condition
Some greens had barren & dark brown patches. In fairness, weather had been incredibly hot & dry for sometime. Round here 3 wks ago greens were good but incredibly a lot of bunkers were overgrown & yet to be tended THIS YEAR! That was mostly fixed this time. Got a Golfnow Hotdeal so value was excellent. We'd heard there's been some financial & ownership issues recently here. Such a nice track I dearly hope they're able to keep things up.
Thank you for the review, we appreciate all feedback regarding your visit. We apologize for the lack of response during the complete weekend from the Pro Shop .. our phone service was knocked out on Sunday morning due to the storm that passed through the area and we were unable to get it back online until Tuesday morning.
Our Player Ambassador Program had a full meeting on May 23 to discuss all forms of interaction with players, this was one of the priorities.
Mother Nature has not given the spring conditions to date for optimum growth, the patches you are referring to our Poa Annua that is going through it's seed head phase. Unfortunately that has made our greens appear patchy and of course roll a little bumpy.
Again thanks for your comments, that's the only way we can improve the golfer experience.
