Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Great course in the London area
A top course in London area. If you haven't played it yet your missing out on a great day of golf.
Love it !
First off, I might be biased but Otter Creek is one of my favorite courses anywhere. It does come with challenges but most courses should. We jumped in the car for a little road trip down to Otter Creek. Warning, its pretty easy to find, even in the dark but getting back to the 401 without a GPS can be a challenge. Miss one turn in reverse and you can get yourself pretty lost. It still behooves me to understand why anyone would build a golf course like this so far off the beaten path. But I am both happy and thankful they did.
Anyways, pro shop was excellent. I forgot my putter and the pro shop did everything they could to get me a loaner. A challenge. I use long putter and why would they have anything but short putters? The pro gave me a couple to check the feel of and off we went. We had the first tee time of the day and were raring to bring the course to its knees.
I love the lay out at Otter Creek. Its not for the faint of heart. We played the blue / white combo tees. The shot values off the blue decks are off the charts. My only criticism would that #9 should play from the white and not the blues in the combo. It spanks me every time. The fairways were like carpets, but soft. There was not a lot of roll to be had. You got what you hit. No gimmie par 3s. and the greens played quick to spite the rain that must have fallen the night before. There seemed to be a worm convention on every green on the front 9. Not the golf course’s fault, just mother nature doing her thing. You worked for every scoring opportunity including evicting worms from your putting line.
My buddy who had never played there before commented that there is a real premium on the tee shot and finding the fairway. Its strong design I believe. He got beat up pretty good but was asking when we were going back.
A word of advise, pick the right tees and you will have a very enjoyable day. I am single digit and had no problems with the combo. My buddy, double digit cap, struggled. He would have been far better off playing straight up whites.
To spite my lack of putter and the crushed ego of my partner, we enjoyed our sub 3 hour trip around Otter Creek and cannot wait to go back again. Value for money is incredible. What you save in green fees more than offsets the cost of the gas to get there. I am not sure you can find a course of this caliber and this well conditioned anywhere in the GTA.
Great course
Course is in great condition, one of the nicest golf courses in the area.
This course has too many gimmicks
Blind shots, forced lay-ups, hidden greens that slope away from tee/approach shots?
It feels like the course layout was compromised to fit the available acreage and cheap tricks employed to riaise the slope rating.
Greens have ridiculous breaks and all bunkers feel like waste areas (ie not raked and coarse, packed sand).
This was my first time around it so a second visit might help with club selection and where to aim but I doubt I'll be back.
Still Great
Tee'd off at 9:00 on a Saturday morning and were finished by 12:20.
Course was is excellent shape the fairways were perfect and the greens ran true and fast the only area that need improvement were the traps.
Pace of play was fast. We played as a twosome and didn't see the group in front of us until the 18th.
To play a course like this in under 3.5 hours on a perfect Saturday morning is rare these days.
This has quickly become my fav course in the area. It's a long drive from Burlington, but well worth it for the quality of the course and the pace of play.
Beautiful course from tees to greens.
Amazing course. Very well thought out. Pristine is an understatement. Had a great time even though I shot very poorly.
First playing course
I have heard great things about Otter Creek over the last few years so I was expecting great things! Disappointed;despite, some very nice golf holes. Complaints: poor starter, very average sand, quirky greens in spots and several average holes. Good course yes but definitely NOT worth the 1hr 20 minute drive!
great shape love the par threes
great course, would play again and again, love elevation changes.
A must play!
This golf course is amazing. I have played a number of courses in SW Ontario but I would rank this course as number one! If you want a challenge on a beautiful course then this is it. It was only 1 hour from my home and worth the drive. I will replay this course many times in the future.
Great Course
One of my new favorites. I will defiantly come back to play this course again. One of my favorites now
Terrific course, but very challenging.
Even good golfers will lose balls. Your score will be higher than at other courses, but you will have had an enjoyable round of golf at a lovely course.
Always a treat to play this very challenging course.
Always a treat to play this very challenging course.
Fast, fast, fast greens. Great course overall
Just wish my game was up to the challenge. Excellent course, well maintained. Lots of interesting looks. Played mid-day on a Sunday and finished in 4.5 hours. Once we got used to the speed of the greens, we managed to keep the three putts to a minimum.
great track
Wide open. No waiting. Challenging course. Great spot for $
beautiful looking coarse
Very challenging. Not for beginners. Narrow fairways. Lots thatch and or trees either side. If not in Fairways you can have a long day.
Hidden Gem of SW Ontario
This course test all the shots in your bag. Score on the front because the back offers even more challenges.Great test of golf from the golds. Fast greens that don't break as much as they appear too.Well worth the drive..
Excellent shape as always
I have played this course once before. It was in great shape then and once again. Staff always friendly. Once again not many people playing so pace was what you wanted it to be. If this great course (at an excellent price point) was closer to Toronto I'm sure it would be very busy.
Very well maintained
The course was great, very very nice and lush. The only issue we had was the marshall would not leave us alone. When we had started our round there was a group of 2 waiting at the tee block ahead of us. The starter had told us to go before them, the marshall then came around and hounded us to hurry up hurry up because we were holding the group up behind us. We let them play through then the marshall had followed us for the next 5 holes, not sure what for. That is the only negative thing to say about this beautiful course!!
This course has some great holes and some very challenging holes
I really enjoy this course. It is a great course for the money. The holes ar great and will test every shot in your bag. Enjoy.
cousre in great shape,
course in great shape all staff super friendly, we golfed as a twosome, couple slow foursomes in front for the back nine, should have been somebody to move them along a bit could have been done in 4 1/2 hours except for these people took over 5 other than that great expecations
