Cherry Downs Golf and Country Club

Course in great shape considering no rain in weeks. Greens were in great shape and the T boxes were easy to get your tee into without a hammer . Would definitely play again.

On July 12 I booked a foursome through GolfNow (#364111332) a "Hot Deal" for $100/pp only to find out within 12hrs of booking that the course price online was $60/pp. I gave the chance to GolfNow to rectify the "technical error" and requested that they either cancel the reservation and issue a new one or reimburse me the difference which amounted to CAD $196.53. I talked to two agents and to their Supervisor. My request was denied. I find this to be a bad and dishonest business practice. Misleading advertising (I trusted GolfNow ..). You still have time to make it right, by reimbursing me the amount of CAD $196.53. It is a honest and fair request. If you're serious about customer service, please respond to my request and make it right. Regards, Alain

I’ve played Cherry Downs many times, and I ha e to say I was surprised at the conditions today. There are all kinds of brown areas all over the course and many of the tee boxes have little or no grass. Many of the sand traps lack sand, or a rake. It’s a great layout, but it’s being neglected. Greens putted well, so no problems there.

This is a great course. Very challenging. Very scenic. Greens are really sloped and tiered. When I played they were very dry and very very hard and fast. Made for a challenging day with the putter

I thought the course was great, but they really need to have someone managing the pace of play. They let a group of 4 on one group ahead of us who did not have a reservation, but came to the course. That should not be allowed. I know this happened because I was in the clubhouse waiting behind this group as they tried to squeeze themselves in. It took us 6 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. I don't want to wait 25 minutes at each hole to hit my ball and then have to wait even more time to hit my subsequent shots. For a Clublink course, I was surprised.

I was a ClubLink member for about 12 years, so I’ve played Cherry Downs over 100 times. But not for about 5 years now. Cherry Downs was always a tough course. Does not visually look it but plays tough. And it has not changed. If you are playing well, Cherry Downs will ground you and humble your golfing skills.

It was in pretty good shape. Greens in particular were rolling fast and true.

Staff were always the friendliness and that has not changed either.

A more than fair price for playing a great, challenging course. Not for beginners.

Seems as though the course has farmed out all of their booking to golf now which has slowed the pace down to an average of 4 hours and 15 minutes. I've never finished a round in under 4 hours and today I didn't even finish on account of being at the 4 hour and 30 minute mark before even teeing off on 17.

I have played this course many times and usually really enjoy it. Last time I played it the course conditions were absolutely horrible. I understand they have to conserve water these days but with prices these days they should at least water tee decks, fairway’s,and greens.
