Cherry Downs Golf and Country Club

Course is tight and greens were fast. Would enjoy another shot at this one.

Course layout is bland with few interesting holes. The greens are in mediocre condition. We generally play at courses which cost less and are in better condition.

After being lectured on the first tee how stringent they are on pace of play, insisting that everyone stay on a 4:15 hour pace, we hardly ever saw a ranger and the round took 4:40. Needless to say, will not return.

As a former member of clublink I had played Cherry Downs on a few occasions. Played it again yesterday and having nothing but great things to say about it. The greens are the best I have seen perhaps in many years. They are firm, lightning fast, but completely fair - no insane undulations. You make a good stroke at the right speed you get rewarded. If not you get penalized. Fairways, bunkers in great shape (only 1 unraked bunker), and the rough is a fair height - you can hit out of it but you won't get the spin needed to hold these greens unless you bounce it short and roll it on. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the halfway house (which is actually after hole 11) is amply supplied. One of the best values for the money out there!!

Still a great course, even though it's public now. People should pick up their feet and repair ball marks.

The layout and condition of this course is typically fine. The greens however are another matter. I've played the course a dozen times now and each time the pins have been cut in ridiculous spots. Unless you've played them a hundred times and seen every pin placement on every green. you'll have no idea where to try to leave your approach. If you're putting from the wrong spot it's impossible to leave it close. If you happen to drain the first one or hit a bomb coming back on your second putt, you've won the lottery. Even when playing well tee to green, I always blow my brains out on these greens. I'm a mid handicap. If I know I can't break 80 even when I'm playing well, it's not much fun. Don't think I'll be back.

I have always wanted to play this course after hearing how challenging it was. I was not disappointed. I have played most of the top courses around including Canadian Open venues and the greens here are some of the most challenging i have encountered ( they were running a bit slow today thankfully).

The club house staff, starters and players assistants were all very friendly and welcoming. They made me feel like a member. I would definitely play this course again just for that reason alone.

Course was in pretty good shape given the wet spring. I found the variety of holes offered constant challenge but genuinely fair. Greens were tough and got faster as the day warmed up. Pace of play was good and marshals kept things moving but remained pleasant. Tee times are 9 min apart so course is not overloaded. Would definitely play it again.

I like to get to courses at least a hour earlier to warm up. Only once I checked in was I told the range was closed. I was very annoyed as this was only my second round of the year and the game is rusty. So my first 9 holes were horrible to say the least and it ruined my day.

Probably will not play there again.

The weather was very windy, but play was very nice.

Great course never a bad day here. I went in late april so the course was soaked. It held it well and we were only confined to the cart path on 3 holes. Greens were outstanding..like winter wasn't even a thing. Noone around all day but that will likely change as the year goes on

Brilliant day, challenging course and we'll worth it.
