About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Another Good Day
Never any real complaints at Black Diamond
Jurgen is a friendly start(er) to your round & course condition always more than adequate.
Great value & my go to course.

2 courses in one
The front and most of the back are so different. On the back you feel like you are in Baniff with some tough uphill shots. Not much level ground to hit off - at least a from where I was hitting. Enjoyed and going back nest week.
Great course and price
An amazing course one of the best I’ve ever been to, and for $35 for 18 and a cart. Definitely can’t beat it.
Nice track, fairly forgiving
One beginner and one senior played from the front tees and two older players (60plus) played from the green tees and we all found the course enjoyable and just challenging enough for our levels. There was very little water but the back 9 was a little more hilly. All in all we enjoying playing the course and we will go back.
Great course excellent value
I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the course for the price. The whole course was very well maintained during a really dry stretch of the year and there are many well designed holes. I misplaced a club on the round and the staff was very gracious in helping me locate it. I will definitely be coming back for more!
Course layout
First of all three course is well layed out and enjoyable.
I do have a few things to mention.
There are 3 holes that have a straight 90° angle dogleg.
What would be good to have is a sign at the tee block telling you how far to drive the dogleg, twice today I drove it through the dogleg thinking I had enough club.
There was also a lot of ground under repair on the fairways and in the landing areas, doesn't take away from the course as you get free relief.
I like the course, would play it again but would also like to have yardage books made available (to purchase)
Excellent Course
Black Diamond is an excellent test of golf with the variation in holes and topography. It varies from long and fairly wide open to dogleg holes that are tight and require accuracy. Most if not all greens are elevated and guarded with bunkers. I found the greens fast, but true and tricky to read. It really helps to play with a member or someone who knows the course well as there are a number of holes where you are blind off the tee.
I normally walk most courses -- this one, I would definitely recommend renting a power cart as it is pretty hilly and the distance from green to tee boxes can be a fair hike on a number of holes.
Great course and friendly staff
My golf now booking somehow didn't process but the staff were very accommodating and managed to fit us. The course overall was in great shape and I will definitely be back again!
Nice Layout,But...
Greens in great shape, but lots of GUR in fairways.
Should make pin placements to suit forecast high winds.
