About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Golfer Reviews
good value for the dollar
enjoyed the new layout at black diamond
will return to play this golf course
Always great to play
Despite cold weather (7 degrees C), course in great condition and extremely enjoyable for last golf game of the season. Look forward to 2018.
Great course
It was very cold but we still enjoyed our round, definitely a course for the long ball hitter, it requires some patience on a few holes because there wasn't to much of the fairway that was flat , guite challenging but a lot of fun
Cold Day
Played on an overcast day but it eventually cleared a little. Great conditions for November and had the course pretty well to ourselves. 4 of us froze in the cold weather but really enjoyed the day. Beautiful course.
Great Course
Cool windy day, course was challenging and in very good shape for time of year.
good day on golf course
Tuesday off work, decided to play a round and ended up playing with 3 members who were teeing off at the same time. Players in front were verrrrry slow, and no marshals on a Tuesday in October so round took longer than necessary :-( BUT members knew the course very well, and had good fun playing a round with them so all was well in the end :-) Thanks for a good day on the golf course
Greens had been aerated a few days before playing, which provided some issues but overall a good experience
black diamond
a very satisfying round but tee boxes not in very good condition (to be expected at this time of year I guess!)
Always worth playing
Always a challenge; course always well maintained.
Nice clubhouse though prices a little on the high side, for beer at least
Good. Challenging Course
Good challenging course. Good value for money. Excellent condition. Nice staff overall
great views, staff very good, greens were rolling very nicely,I fixed at least 3 to 4 pitch marks on most greens(why can't golfers fixed there own + one more)
Over all great value
Enjoyed this course better before when it was two distinct 9 hole course layouts
The round started with 4 groups awaiting to tee off at our time at 2:16pm which put us behind by close to 30 minutes. The round took us over 5 hrs to play with log jams on par 3's and hazard carry driving tees. The greens were left in bad shape from players beforehand without fixing their divots from approach shots and multiple cigarettes and cigars butts left on the greens also. Not the fault of the course but still left a bad feeling about the round. Went in after the round to talk with the pro shop about these issues to find it closed up and everyone gone home before the last golfers had finished the course.
As stated in the headline for this review I much enjoyed the old layout of 2 distinct 9 hole courses of links style front 9 all open and longer to create space between groupings and warm up your game to get ready for a placement golf tight back 9 that challenged you to know your clubs and distances hit. While still offering great holes that never had log jams on any tee blocks.
Just my opinion and hope you have better luck with your round here.
Cheers
Great Golf Course
I have played this golf course a few times. I find that it is good value for the money, course is always in excellent condition and a pleasure to play.
Best Bang for the Buck!
This is one of the best courses around and can be extremely challenging if the weather conditions are such. I've played this course many times and there are certain holes which I always have trouble with and then there are holes that keep bringing me back. The staff are great. If you want to really challenge your game, play this course.
Scenic
Challenging course, fescue and undulating greens, good experience
