About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Scenic
Challenging course, fescue and undulating greens, good experience
All good!
Typical black diamond consistency to good course maintenance and customer service ! Bravo!
Pace of play
By the time we arrived on the 10th tee there was a group on the green, group on the fairway and 3 plus our group on the tee . We would have waited I'm guessing 45 minutes to hit. We opptied to play the front 9 again because there was no wait. Kinda ruined our round . Course was in great shape tho .
Black Diamond
Quite hilly, interesting holes. A few quirky 90 degree doglegs. They could provide some yardage tips on the doglegs. It is guess work how far too hit it. Too many drives through the fairways.
GREAT COURSE!
A couple of holes had bad layouts but excellent course overall
Up and down just like the course
I have been wanting to play this course for some time, and I was not disappointed. This is a beautiful, challenging, stunning track. I can't wait to play it again. Only negative was the greens are in need of a top dressing. They were not bad just due. Just to go out on a high note, every single cup was perfect. Something that is not always the case
A course you can get lost playing.
Been awhile since I played Black Diamond..met Gary the starter..very cordial and friendly..good start to rhe round..found out they had switched the layout..found it to be quite enjoyable..little more signage would be appreciated. It was on and off drizzle but the course held up...was paired up with a couple and a single..pleasant company
All in all..was worth the drive from Scarborough.
Great drainage for very rainy season
Play here regularly course is always in very good condition even with very rainy conditions this year.Drainage at this course is excellent. Many holes with elevation changes causing many uneven lies in the fairways (Not very suitable for high handycappers).Very challenging course with some very good seanery.Very professional staff.I book through GN as a single regularly looking for tee times requiering one or two golfers as I dislike playing alone.I usually arrive at the course at least one hour early so I have time to warm up.I always let the pro shop attendants know where I will be incase of any changes to tee time as in teeing off earlier as well as letting them know my dislike of playing alone so that if the rest of the people for my tee time don't show up they can try to put me in with another group.l have been disappointed many times at other local courses due to bad unprofessional staff, not at Black Diamond Starters are always very organized and I have never had to play alone here.I would highly recommend this cource to all mid to low handicappers for a pleasurable golf value.
Course busy on long weekend
The course has many holes with blind shots which makes it challenging for many. The changes in elevation give the course character and there are many tight holes with tree lined fairways. Course was very busy so 5 hour round and waited at every hole on back nine.
Overall would play again.
Good value
We play here often. Good value, good pace of play. The new lay out is a great improvement.
A CHALLENGING COURSE IN GOOD SHAPE EXCEPT A FEW TEE BLOCKS,ONE COMPLETELY GONE. SLOW PLAY HINDERED OUR ENJOYMENT. A 5 HOUR ROUND OR MORE. LAYOUT IMPROVED FROM PREVIOUS YEAR BUT STILL SOME CRAZY HOLES THAT SLOW DOWN THE ROUND. IF SPENDING OVER 5 HOURS ON A GOLF COURSE NOT A PROBLEM THIS COURSE IS ACCEPTABLE.
