About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Golfer Reviews
Worth the trip
Read a lot of mixed reviews with some people not liking some of the holes on the back nine. There were a couple that I could live with out, but overall a great value. Conditions were very good and the greens were very quick.
An excellent golf experience less than an hour from toronto
Great value on a course which is challenging to play
A real gem.
Very challenging course. Has all kinds of terain and
enough variety. The scenery is breath taking and on some holes you feel like your playing out west.
The greens are very fast and well maintained. Watch for no. 16 sharp dogleg right, you have to pin point the ball 190 yds. just infront of the bunkers so you have a chance to go for the green.
Excellent course.
Great course
Played it Friday afternoon and got through 18 holes in 3.5 hours. Lots of elevation changes with lots of blind shots (had a GPS which helped a ton as this was my first round there). Greens were hard and fast.
Will go again.
Not a good golf course
From the reviews, I can only gather that those who seem to think this is a decent golf course are not golfers.
The back nine is a strong contender for the worst 9 in the province, with ski slope after ski slope. The par 5 13th, for instance, a downhill left to righ dogleg, my playing partner had to lay up with a lob wedge from the centre of the fairway, I hit a pitching wedge over the trees to the front edge.
There are a bunch of silly holes like that one.
But even despite the silly holes, I used to play this course once or twice a year because I knew and respected the former pro and owner, Darren Stalteri. He ran a golf course that was committed to customer service. My recent encounter, where the Marshall asked me, "do you want to do my job?" when I asked why we were standing 3 groups on a teebox the whole back nine shows, as well as the assistant in the shop who seemed like he was bothered to look up from watching television when we went in to discuss the matter, just how far from Darren's days the customer service today is.
I won't be returning to this place and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Terrible customer service!
I playedwith two of my brothers, and the front 9 was played in 2 hrs., but we waited on EVERY SHOT on the back 9! I mentioned my concern to the 'marshal' and he replied "you want to be marshal?" I also brought my concern to the pro shop staff and all they wanted to do was argue about the wait, and had no intention or concern about resolving the issue or my being unhappy with pace of play. This course has the worst customer service I've seen in quite a while, and it's not cheap! Definitely not worth driving from Toronto to play a course that doesn't care about the golfer.
Great course
The course was in good condition overall and it played relatively fast. It is a challenging course that test your ability with almost every club in your bag. Thankfully the course is somewhat forgiving which makes for a fun round of golf.
Great deal
The course on the whole was in great shape. Only complaint...the greens were quite slow and in slight need of repair....that could be from the drunk group ahead of us who marked up one green fairly badly.
Definitely will play there again!!!
First the Links then the Parkland
Excellent course. I travel from Toronto and it is always worth the drive. Beautiful ClubLink caliber course with a variety of holes that is rarely seen, the front nine being nearly pure links style, the back winding through the forest. Greens are subtle many times u will not see a break that is actually there hard where it has to be hard and safe where it has to be safe....an excellent course design
This course was very well maintaned
Best bang for your buck. Great course, loads of fun and very challenging
Great Day!
We played this course on a cold and windy day on the way to the cottage. The front nine is quite wide open and the back is more protected and out of the wind. We never had to wait - great pace. My husband who normally loses a lot of balls was amazed since he only lost one ball.
The course was in great shape!
2 Different nines
Had a great day. Great special price. Weather conditions were poor but course conditions were great. Bruce M
This course has some grat elevation changes that test your iron play.
Course was in good shape and has some interesting holes, however it took almost 5 hours to play. There were no marshalls present to speed up play.
Always A Pleasure
Played the course for first time last week and noticed big difference in condition this week as compared. Must have faired the tough winter well as fairways and greens were great. Back 9 much more difficult that the front.
Compared to other courses in the Peterborough area this is a must play as far as I am concerned. Only negative would be the $7.50 beer prices!!!
Great course fairways and greens
For this time of year perfect
shape Both fairways and greens in great shape just a few patches of winter kill
