About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

2 courses in one
Very challenging on windy days. Greens were extremely difficult being a 10-11 on the stimp, windy and undulating. Great rates through Golf Now.
Every hole presents a new challenge.
Nice course. Dog legs right and left in combination with up and down slopes and wide fairways make this an interesting course.
Lots of opportunities to take risky shots, yet safe approaches are always available.
Great Course
First nine holes are a warm up for the back nine holes. Front nine are open and back nine are hilly, narrow fairways with drops in elevation throughout. Have played Black Diamond on many occassion and enjoyed it everytime.
Great course but no atmosphere.
Enjoyed playing this challenging course. The clubhouse is not very inviting with little atmosphere. Not a great place for post game beverage and food. Seems more like a banquet hall. Pro shop staff cordial but not overly friendly. Love the course though!
Great course
Great course, not far away from Toronto, reasonable green fee.
Give it a try...
Black Diamond offers two distinct courses in one. The front nine is mostly even keeled to give you a sense of confidence entering the back nine - which turns out to be a totally different kind of animal... narrower fairways, almost unfair landing areas as well as a few challenging elevated greens give the average golfer a lot to whine about. Nevertheless, I'm a sucker for punishment and come back again and again.
Very well maintained course
As a 17 h-cap, I found the course quite challenging from the blues. First 9 feels a bit like a links course and the back was completely different with narrow tree-lined, hilly fairways with greens very difficult to read. Must get a cart for the back 9. I had fun! Lost a few balls! Then had a drink at the clubhouse. Friendly staff!
Great Course
Beautiful course. Always very well maintained. Friendly staff. Has some forgiveness but are areas where it is super tight. Some holes feel lie they ran out of room. Overall it's an amazing course. Shot some of my best round rounds here.
Excellent course. Real value.
Loved the layout. Challenging yet playable. Excellent condition. One of the best courses in Ontario at it's price point.
The greens and fairways are pristine.
I am not a fan of target golf and blind shots both tee and approach. The back nine goes through ski hill type of terrain. The front nine was very enjoyable.
two courses in one
Nice course that gives you 9 holes of links style golf and 9 holes of tree lines fairways with several hills to come in play. A great challenge with tough greens and some tough lies.
Hidden gem
Great value for the money -and not nearly as far as I initially thought. In fact, it's closer to the city than a lot of other tracks to the north that I've been going to. Well maintained and a variety of challenging holes with different looks.
Great bang for the buck
Best of both links style and parkland style courses...
This course has completely different front and back nines.
This was a moderate to challenging course depending on which nine you were playing, with the back nine being challenging with blind tees and a number of uphill shots. Although challenging my wife really liked the variety. Would definitely go again, especially with the great value offered by GolfNow.
A scenic, challenging course
I've been playing Black Diamond for years and it's always an enjoyable experience. Great views, good condition and tough enough to make it interesting. Highly recommended.
It's a gem
I hadn't played here in a while. Having revisited recently and wow what treat. Way better than I remembered it. Front nine is links style, back nine parkland. Back nine has more interesting holes, everyone's different. I'm glad it's the back nine and I was warmed up since it requires more accuracy. Very enjoyable.
Very slow
The course had a tournament and overbooked.
The round took more than 5 hours.
Nice course too long for a round.
