Black Diamond Golf Club
About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Great Course
Beautiful course. Always very well maintained. Friendly staff. Has some forgiveness but are areas where it is super tight. Some holes feel lie they ran out of room. Overall it's an amazing course. Shot some of my best round rounds here.
Excellent course. Real value.
Loved the layout. Challenging yet playable. Excellent condition. One of the best courses in Ontario at it's price point.
The greens and fairways are pristine.
I am not a fan of target golf and blind shots both tee and approach. The back nine goes through ski hill type of terrain. The front nine was very enjoyable.
two courses in one
Nice course that gives you 9 holes of links style golf and 9 holes of tree lines fairways with several hills to come in play. A great challenge with tough greens and some tough lies.
Hidden gem
Great value for the money -and not nearly as far as I initially thought. In fact, it's closer to the city than a lot of other tracks to the north that I've been going to. Well maintained and a variety of challenging holes with different looks.
Great bang for the buck
Best of both links style and parkland style courses...
This course has completely different front and back nines.
This was a moderate to challenging course depending on which nine you were playing, with the back nine being challenging with blind tees and a number of uphill shots. Although challenging my wife really liked the variety. Would definitely go again, especially with the great value offered by GolfNow.
Course is very well kept.
Great course, excellent value for the money. scenery is beautiful.
Worth the long drive
Great value for a hot deal. Front completely different from the back but still enjoyable.
A scenic, challenging course
I've been playing Black Diamond for years and it's always an enjoyable experience. Great views, good condition and tough enough to make it interesting. Highly recommended.
It's a gem
I hadn't played here in a while. Having revisited recently and wow what treat. Way better than I remembered it. Front nine is links style, back nine parkland. Back nine has more interesting holes, everyone's different. I'm glad it's the back nine and I was warmed up since it requires more accuracy. Very enjoyable.
Very slow
The course had a tournament and overbooked.
The round took more than 5 hours.
Nice course too long for a round.
Great front nine.
I don't think I have ever played a course that has such a different 2 nines. The front nine was in good condition and with some good risk/reward holes. The bunkers desperately need more sand, but otherwise, a good front nine. I really did not like the back nine. A few pretty holes, but really too mickey-mouse for my liking. I love tree-lined courses, but the shapes of the holes and the greens seemed to be from a different course. If you can find a good deal on this course as I did, then it is worth it, but If you can, play the front nine, twice.
A tale of two nines
Black Diamond has a variety of holes that will challenge your game. I have played here several times, and I'm still not sure how to approach some of the holes. Namely the 13th and 16th. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back. The front nine is relatively straight forward, but hardly prepares you for the back nine, which is full of dog legs, blind shots, and elevation changes. The course recommends a power cart for the back nine...........my wife and I walked it once, our first time.........but never again! If you like a challenge and nice views, this course is for you.
very slow pace
No complaints about the conditions, price or layout, but 5 1/4 hours to play on a week day afternoon??? Come on!!!! That's too slow and leads to frustration. Weak Marshalls unable to monitor, speed up play are not doing the course any favours.
Get someone that'll do the job!!!!
Worth the drive from Toronto
A wide range of excellent tee positions up to silver with great course views on most holes. Lots of fairway elevation changes with dog-legs make for target playing either to the safe target or over the trees. Smooth generous sized greens were hard as one might expect in spring but I made a lot of coins on long putts holed out, which is rare for me, so naturally I found the greens very readable inspite of double or triple breaks. the regular rates with cart included are very fair and the discounted special time slot is a steal of a deal. It is our favorite course with by out-of-town friends. Even though we had to wait one group to get on, it seemed like we had the course to ourselves most of the time.
Its has a Dunes style feel on the front nine and a mountain course with 15 yrd fairways at the 300 yd mark for long hitters, where I seemed to find the mark. The rough is light enough to find your ball in most cases... when you do miss the broad side of a barn.
Good condition for early in the year
The course is in very good conditionfor early in the season.Staff was friendly and easy going. The course played long as it was windy, but fairways and greens were in great shape
the front 9 & back 9 are completly different. Keeps your attention.
Enjoyed the challenge on the back nine. Still have not figured out how to play the 16th hole.
awesome challenges especially on the back 9
best course in the area- greens were good - especially considering the weather- my cart - i exchanged it after 9 holes- problems starting- rusty sitting - went early and we were allowed to go early- great starters- easy staff- fun day- will be back- worth the bucks-
picturesque with many elevations.
great fall value. The course was in great shape. Several 'long bomber' holes and most holes were challenging. This course has a variety of looks ... dog-legs, long par 5's, challenging par 3's, picturesque water holes and large greens. Though a 45 minute drive from east Toronto, it was well worth the drive.
