Black Diamond Golf Club
About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Great Value and challenging
I've played this course many times. One of the nicer courses east of Oshawa. The two nines are very different; front 9 is mostly open/links style, while the back is more traditional/woodland, with some sharp elevation changes. Back 9 requires more focus on ball placement.
The greens are usually pretty quick and the course is well maintained and marshalled.
Picturesque back nine!
I have played this course several items this year and find that it always changes due to the prevailing wind direction. Holes 1 & 9 are especially impacted by wind direction. My favorite hole is 12 which has to be the prettiest on the course. Staff here are friendly and very helpful. Their demeanor is pleasant and make you feel at home. Good value for the money overall.
good piece of land, front 9 open. 2 goofy holes on the back 9
nice course, not in the greatest shape, too far to drive
This was the worst golf experience i have ever had !
The experience was terrible , when my buddie and i showed up to golf there was seven groups of four waiting on the tee blocks , we teed off 45 minutes later than our tee time , then they made us group up with two other strangers, was the worst golf experience i have ever had , we quit after 9 holes, was horrible !
Lots of wildlife, great views.
One of my favorites. Great place to chill after a round.
Greens had been recently aerated and there was an abundance of Sand on them.
The greens had been recently aerated and had an abundance of sand on them which made putting very slow and difficult. Last minute golfer used to have on the site when a course was last aerated so you would not waste your time and money visiting a course that had been recently aerated. I think this feature should be added to the golf now web site.
I enjoy the course and play it 3 to 4 times a year
Unfortunately yesterday they allowed four twosomes to tee off behind us. WE allowed three groups to play through. That made us wait. a fair bit. I do not know why they did not do some pairing up. Although the course was not busy, they still should have done that. We voiced our concern to the club house.
Two different nines
First nine easier than the back for sure ! Challenging course .
2 different courses in one! A pleasure to play.
Black diamond is always in great playing conditions. The open links style front nine is as challenging as the tight pine-lined back nine. Greens are always well maintained.
Staff at Blackdiamond are very helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great day.
VERY FAST GREENS
Will play again. very challenging. Back nine has some nice holes and carry's
The course is a favourite of my wife and I.
The front and back nines are totally different with one being a links style and the other traditional through the trees. Great views of the countryside. On this particular day the pace of play was brutal and we just managed to finish before pulling out the flashlights. Course is usually in good condition with the greens usually running fast.
good wide open course tough back nine
great course to play with lots of challenges and fast greens
It is a must play.
I have had good experiences here. The last time I played on a burner deal and was disappointed to find it very slow. In fact I ended up walking off the course after 4 holes. Yes that slow. Would have been 6 hours. The started said it was moving well when I teed off. On a good note the front nine is very nice and has some distance to offer for the lower handicaps. Playing the back nine goes from wide open to the tightest, hilliest nine you will ever play. This is why I say it is a must play. You can play usually in 4.5 hours.
great layout
we have enjoyed playing at Black Diamond, the staff is always very receptive, friends have rave about this course because of the long fairways and tough greens. we will always recommend this course to our friends, sometimes i wish it was closer so we can play more often. i wish that there would be more courses within the Durham Ontario region, such as Watsons Glen, Glen Cedars, Heather Glen,Royal Ashburn.
Picton Golf course
Great Value
Great course for the value. Great Service from staff. Open course with some challenging greens.
