Black Diamond Golf Club
About
Black Diamond Golf Club was carefully carved from the foothills and hardwood and pine forests of the Kawartha Oakridge Moraine. The natural landscape, which is covered in fescue, provides many challenges including several elevation changes and water hazards. The layout is unique in that the front nine is more of an open, links style with a double green and numerous pot bunkers, while the back nine has a more traditional North American character. Black Diamond Golf Club's back nine has a few tricky blind shots that present a formidable test for players of all skill levels. The golf course also has rolling fairways lined with trees, carefully sculpted mounding, and 70 strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Great course
Just a comment re: Marshall didn't inform the group in front to pick up speed causing group behind us pressing on. Plus, the group had bad attitude due to delay by the group of us.
Great course. Superb fairways and greens.
This course was well maintained and in pristine condition. Long and wide fairways, fast greens and four choices of tees that makes this one of the top five courses in Ontario.
Top quality golf course, very challenging, a real test.
Course layout is top notch and very well thought out. You have to plan your shots to score well on this course. Every hole is picture postcard perfect and the course is very well maintained and staff are great.
Good Course, but Overpriced...
The front 9 is not worth the money, but 10-12 play like a $100+ course. Even if you're riding, expect to wait a while because the location and price of this course are not restrictive enough to keep weekend warriors elsewhere. We were hurried off the first tee by the marshal because we got to the tee for 9:05am instead of 9:04am as if the course was going to play rather quickly, but we were waiting on every approach from #4 onward.
Great course, over 7000 yds from back tees
front 9 more open. back 9 more challenging and interesting.
excellent course
a great fun day. Front 9 fairly wide open with some elevation change. Back 9 was special with panoramic views ,serious elevation change and narrow fairways, was great fun to play. Course was in excellent shape, tee boxes, fairways and greens which were some times generous. I would recommend this course to every one, no matter their skill level.
Like 2 course types in one. Front 9 less challenging than the back.
Enjoyable day of golf with my son fr his birthday.
Course was in better shape than our play... but still had a great time!
Good time and good value
Course has two distinctive 9's. The front is links type and the back is tight with many trees lining the fairways. Some of the back nine holes are more difficult for people playing the course for the first time due to hidden greens.
I would have rated this course a 5 star, however...
Beautiful golf course with, and a great value early in the morning.
My only gripe would be the lack of constancy on the greens, the front nine played very hard and fast. Considering we had received rain the day prior we were surprised.
Landing the ball and having it stay on the green was a challenge. Example, had a shot 95 yards out with the pin in the middle. Played a full 60 degree and had it still roll of the back side.
The back nine greens were a tad softer (not much)
Plenty of dog legs and lay ups are needed and will reward those who do.
Great course and would play it again.
Is a great course to play great for the value
A great course to play front 9 is link course and back 9 is traditional course condition of the golf course is great and the pace is good no back up for 5 hours round good experience just a little too far from home.
Nice track with quick greens
The course was in great shape and the greens were quick and rolled true. The front nine is open and forgiving while the back nine is tight and hilly. Some nice holes but some blind tee shots which make club selection tough. A good value with a hot deal.
great course with an even better price!
A++++++ course. Well worth the drive from either Peterborough, Durham Region or the GTA.
2 courses in one
Very challenging on windy days. Greens were extremely difficult being a 10-11 on the stimp, windy and undulating. Great rates through Golf Now.
Every hole presents a new challenge.
Nice course. Dog legs right and left in combination with up and down slopes and wide fairways make this an interesting course.
Lots of opportunities to take risky shots, yet safe approaches are always available.
Great Course
First nine holes are a warm up for the back nine holes. Front nine are open and back nine are hilly, narrow fairways with drops in elevation throughout. Have played Black Diamond on many occassion and enjoyed it everytime.
If it was in Toronto $100 course easy
Front nine is nice open... back nine is deadly
Usually can find hot deals for under $45 with cart
Great course but no atmosphere.
Enjoyed playing this challenging course. The clubhouse is not very inviting with little atmosphere. Not a great place for post game beverage and food. Seems more like a banquet hall. Pro shop staff cordial but not overly friendly. Love the course though!
Great course
Great course, not far away from Toronto, reasonable green fee.
Give it a try...
Black Diamond offers two distinct courses in one. The front nine is mostly even keeled to give you a sense of confidence entering the back nine - which turns out to be a totally different kind of animal... narrower fairways, almost unfair landing areas as well as a few challenging elevated greens give the average golfer a lot to whine about. Nevertheless, I'm a sucker for punishment and come back again and again.
Very well maintained course
As a 17 h-cap, I found the course quite challenging from the blues. First 9 feels a bit like a links course and the back was completely different with narrow tree-lined, hilly fairways with greens very difficult to read. Must get a cart for the back 9. I had fun! Lost a few balls! Then had a drink at the clubhouse. Friendly staff!
