Dragonfly Golf Links
About
Dragonfly Golf Club is located in the upper Ottawa Valley in the town of Renfrew, which sits along the Bonnechere River. The course sprawls across rolling hills speckled with exposed rock faces, mature trees, and sparkling blue ponds, all of which come into play throughout. The scenic surroundings can be distracting because of the panoramic views overlooking the Ottawa Valley, but the design will demand your attention. The front nine has a traditional links layout while the back nine plays more like target golf. Despite offering two unique nines, they blend together seamlessly to form a golf course that will test all of your shot making skills. In addition to the golf course, Dragonfly has a driving range with 20 hitting stations and the option of tee matts or natural grass. Chipping and putting greens with a practice bunker are also available adjacent to the range.

A "Must Play" in the Ottawa Valley
The course was in immaculate condition. Because they were preparing for their club championship later in the week when they will be double rolled, the greens were lush, therefore a little slow, but true.
All the staff, from the pro shop, clubhouse, Marshall, to the young person who cleaned the cart upon its return, had a smile on their face and treated us like a champion.
What great time!
Yesterday
Played the course yesterday. Course is in great shape. Greens a bit slow but in great shape. Fairways r excellent. Had a phone call today saying I was late for my 1.40 tee time .Oops looks like I may have got my dates mixed up. Anyhow I Chis was very pleasant about it. Note to self Bill next time you receive a confirmation Tee time read it. Thanks Chris for your understanding.
Mistake made by staff, no responsibility taken
After checking in and grabbing a cart at the pro shop, I proceeded to play the front 9 like every other time I’ve been here. After the front 9 I proceeded to hole 10 to play the back 9 when a Marshall chased me down and said I cannot play the back 9 because it was mens night.
Renfrew is not a close drive and I look forward to playing the ENTIRE course when I pay to play it. A simple “it’s back 9 start today” from the staff and there would be no issue. The Marshall was unapologetic asking me if I could read the one sign that was hidden behind a parked cart.
It’s unfortunate because I enjoy playing here and like to bring friends to play the course as well. The situation could have been resolved with an apology instead of insulting my intelligence asking me if I could read a tiny hidden sign.
Slow, slow
Marshall's not present. Way too long for tee time of 1PM, 4.1/2 Hrs.
No enforcement of pace of play.
Expect a slow pace
If you're in no rush, this is a well maintained course, with plenty of variety and challenges. The front nine is easy to walk, but you should definitely use a cart on all or at least the back nine. The course should require you to use a cart on days over 25°, walkers slow down significantly as the back nine moves to the hills and grinds up and downhill. The front nine is slightly forgivable, but surrounded by fescue. The back nine gets tougher and out of bounds is tight. Staff are friendly and helpful, will play again.
Good for the price
I found the course enjoyable , the price was good and the greens were in fairly good shape. My only complaint would be that it seemed fairly unimaginative as layouts go , very classic links style course. Good course for sure but not my favourite in the Ottawa valley.
Great experience!
Loved everything about this course! But what was really special were the interactions with the staff - everyone from the starter to the cart girl to Maggie in the restaurant were a pleasure to deal with!
They made the best of what they had
Greens are nice but that’s about it. They overbooked and pace was atrocious
Great rural course!
What a fantastic place! Very different types of 9's, excellent condition, and very friendly and cordial staff.
I wish I lived in the area as I would surely become a member.
Can't wait to be in the area again to play this hidden gem.
Great value to boot!
Always a pleasure.
Course is great for family or challenging for good golfer too
