About
Set along the Rio Grande River, this is a scenic course with spectacular views. The front nine was built in 1987, and the back nine followed in 1992. The highlight of the course is what is perhaps the longest water hazard in Texas, the Rio Grande River, which flows along holes 5 through 13 on the left side of the fairway.
Narrow fairways and grass bunkers make the course tough, especially when the wind is howling, as it is tough to hit the small, firm greens. Water is everywhere. No. 14 is the only hole without water. The par 3 17th hole, with its island greens, headlines a series of demanding par 3 holes. The last hole plays 434 yards into the wind and has out-of-bounds on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Harlingen take Hwy. 77 south. When you come to Hwy. 802 turn right, then continue until you reach Hwy 281. Turn right again and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the course

Great Staff
It all starts in the club house. This place has the best, friendliest and knowledgeable staff around. The coures is in great shape and the layout is amazing. How many courses can you play that is right along the Rio Grande River. This is a must play course.

enjoyed first time
River Bend remined me of a course back home, except I was in the great State of Texas. I enjoyed my first trip to River Bend Resort and I will go again on my next trip.

Double charged
Booked through Golf Now App and payed. At the course they charged me again and said it wasn’t paid through the app. Got my credit card statement and found I was charged double.
Nice course though. Played there a lot over the years. Never again.

Friendly venue
Nice course and good rates compared to others in the area. Several holes involve driving through residential areas to reach tees but all well signed. Greens considering the weather were in good condition and running true. Some interesting carries over water which makes the round enjoyable. Quite a number of doglegs. Reception staff very helpful and friendly.

I love this course Adrian and his staff are over the top friendly. Most of the time play at River Bend is fast and most of the golfers are great and will let faster players through unless it is the Garcia group They play with 5 golfers and hold groups up. The course and the staff makes playing there worth dealing with people that are lack golf etiquette.

Great Track
The course was just irritated and cut so the greens were still a little sandy but in good shape. My only complaint is the 9 hole which is one of their signature holes is still a short par 3 not the par 4 scenic hole. It has been this way for a least 6 months. But I still highly recommend the course to those that want a great deal and a fun course.

Course is in really good shape. And price. While other area courses are drying out and still charging $80 ( yes you SPI)That Rio Grande water helps alot. If this track had samd bunkers it would be so much better. And 18 should revert back to a par 4. Shortening it to a short 3 just to protect a few tiny houses makes no sense. (Net). Overall a really hood deal and course.
