Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Hidden Creek Burleson
I hadn't played Hidden Creek since last year because the drought had put it in bad shape with the fairways very hard and patchy with big missing or dead areas of grass. This time was much better, since we've had a lot of rain this spring but even with this, the ground and fairways were still very hard and some shots your club would just bounce off and not leave much of a divot. However, the greens were in great shape and really nice to putt on, and overall I enjoyed the course again.
Course still subpar but improving
Hidden creek is still subpar but is improving. The greens are getting better with some bare spots but where there’s grass they getting back to their former glory. Still way too many bare dirt spots in and around the fairways and kinda of bad tee boxes. Not sure how they managed to mess up the course so badly the last year or so but it is slowly getting better. Pace of play was pretty good which I assume is the result of the course condition. The price was ok vs other DFW course and again I presume due to the poor course condition. So from very poor in the spring to fair/midling conditions but at least at a reasonable price and pace of play.
Worth the drive, best greens this year!
Go play it! Greens were the best I’ve seen this year
Played Grapevine GC 3 of the last 4 Sundays and
the greens at HC were in way better shape. There are some bare spots on some fairways, but nothing major. Pace of play was good, finished in just under 4 hours
Almost Home Course
Holes are unique, with a few blind spot holes. This is very fun to play. A couple of holes were cart path only, but that's not a big deal. I really liked the diversity of holes. If this course was closer to my house, it would 100% be my go-to, home course.
Hidden Meadows
Solid course, nice conditions, quick pace of play!
WHAT FOOL GIVES THIS COURSE A 4 STAR?
Serious golfer or a hacker, doesn't matter. This course is 💩.. HORRIBLE condition. Weeds everywhere. Greens, slow and bumpy. Course, WAY OVER PRICED. I mean, what are we doing? Some of the holes are straight up STUPID. TEXAS, STOP OVER PRICING YOUR COURSES. COVID IS OVER, AND EVERYONE SHOULD BE FINANCIALLY CAUGHT UP BY NOW. This is TEXAS. Where's the freak'n pride? Bottom line, STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIDDEN CREEK. HIDDEN CREEK SHOULD STAY HIDDEN. Or find it at the price of 35 bucks. IF THAT.
Good Pace. Good Course
Played 18 at Hidden Creek in Burleson today and really enjoyed it. The course was in great shape—greens were smooth, fairways were well kept, and the layout kept things interesting without being overly punishing. Staff was friendly and the pace of play was solid. You can tell they care about the experience here. Definitely worth a round if you’re in the area. I’ll be back.
Didn’t expect much!
This was my first time playing Hidden Creek, but will not be my last. The course is in fantastic condition. The only downsides are cart path only on several par 4’s and a par 5. That being said, those fairways are in awesome shape. Also, we teed off at 4, but the grill was closed at the kick. The pro shop didn’t even have water for purchase. That being said , the course did have cold water stations with paper cups. Overall, we had a very nice time with perfect pace.
Great bones, terrible people
This course has a beautiful layout, awesome sand, rock hard fairways and decent greens. The players (older people) and staff were terrible. Shooting high 80s and being pushed by every old guy to go faster after they duffed their 7th shot is never ideal.
Agreed. This place is a joke. The GPS carts make it even more of a joke.
