About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Golfer Reviews
Fun Course to Play
New greens are hard and fast, even though they were wet..... but nice. Course layout favors a fade more than a draw... chip shots over lobs... in most cases.
Great time
Had a fantastic golfing experience. Can't wait to play again.
Hidden Gem in Johnson County
Play at this course was challenging and a wonderful experience. The course was in excellent condition and the staff was very friendly.
HC in great shape
Played on a Thursday afternoon. The course is in great shape
Great course at a great value
Had a great experience at Hidden Creek Monday. The course is in good shape with a challenging, but fun layout. We only managed to get in the front nine before the rains came. The course gave us a full credit to comeback. Would recommend this course to anyone looking for great golf at a very affordable price!
Slow slow and hard greens
5 hour round at a 9;15 am start.grees were hard and did not hold very well.
Fun course to challenge you off the tee boxes.
Tee shot locations are challenging on several of the par 4s and par 5s, however the rewards of a good drive on many of them are too great to play anything but the big stick. The greens are in great shape and most boast some kind of slope near pin placements, making for a very challenging day with the putter. Great course for the money.
Decent Course
This is a nice course, but nothing outstanding. One thing I found a little disappointing was the fact that I paid $20 to walk, and that was after a military discount and on a Tuesday. They do a good job of keeping the course well maintained. The greens were in good shape and the fairways as well. The sand bunkers left something to be desired. They are very difficult to hit out of, sand was very hard. I will play this course again, but probably won't be my go-to course.
Held up
When we turned from the front 9 to back 9 they let another group go in front of us. We were already playing slow. We had to skip the group they let in front. Not only did we skip a hole but the two groups behind us did the same. The course should monitor play better than that. There were lots of open holes in front of the group they let in front because they were really slow.
Great layout
First played last month. Much better now. Greens and fairways are excellent. Greens roll true and no hard pan fairways. Clean, well maintained course.
Very nice redesign
the course underwent a fairly extensive redesign and it has been re-routed and features a few new holes. Course was in great shape, but the greens, while beautiful and green, were extremely slow. They rolled very true, but were just plain slow. Seemed like they weren't mowed down very tight and lots of grain fighting against your ball. Also, the bunkers were never raked and looked like they hadn't been in quite some time.
All in all, for the price, it's a great value. Just hit your putts a little harder and avoid the bunkers.
Great course for the money and great staff
Great pricing for what you get, a great course with a bit of challenge.
Greens !
Great greens ! Very receptive , greens will hold your approach shots.
Great Value!
This is one of the BEST municipal courses I have ever played.
Fairways are fairly generous, greens are big and very smooth. Has a good combination of dog-legs, good length par-3's.
good value
Love the course. The right amount of challenge. Nice facility with great staff.
Good value
For the money (under $30 thru golfnow) I cannot think of many places that beat HiddenCreek. In fairness I live less than a mile from the course, so that factors in for me.
It isn't Augusta but very good for a muni in a smaller suburb. Excellent facilities given that they have range convenient to the course with two putting greens and a wedge area as well.
Good course to have in your golfing rotation for the Fort Worth area.
Reviews don't match
The review on GolfNow and condition just don't match. Greens were ok based on time of year bunkers were not very good. Lack of rakes by bunkers and just rude people not raking bunkers added to substandard conditions. Too many very high handicap golfers holding up the course. Not really sure how this course is rated 4.2 conditioning.
Staff unfriendly
The course is fun and challenging for all levels of golfers. But front desk guy needs a course in professional etiquette. I handed staff my credit card to pay and he throws my credit card on counter instead of handing it back to me. Handed me my golf range coin the same way. Very rude and unprofessional. If I hand you my payment it's only professional to do the same.
