Souther Oaks... a pleasure to play
Souther Oaks was a nice find for me. It has the feel of some Arkansas courses I play. Friendly, yet challenging. Great course value for the money.
One of the good things that happened to me there was me and my partner were going to be late they accommodated this. Thank you Southern Oaks
Becoming my favorite course
Second time to play So Oaks but id becoming one of my favorite. Greens and fairways were in great condition for this time of year. Pace of play was decent.
Good pace, course in good shape, nice greens
Hadn’t played here in over 10 years, was pleasantly surprised at how much things had changed. Course was a little soggy from rain 2 days earlier but at the turn they allowed the back nine to go 90 degrees
Greens were very nice. Will play again
Forgiving Course
Nice course with wide foregiving fairways. Greens and fairways were in great condition. Pacd of play was decent though there was a group of 5 ahead of us that we wanted a short time at most holes. Will look to play this course again
Great Course
The layout of the course is fantastic, weather was nice but we had several holes on the back playing into a 20mph wind and at 400+ yards it added to the challenge. Staff at the club house seemed to be a bit put off when one of my playing partners said he was an assistant pro at another course. They said he should have called first before just showing up. Liked it so much set up anotger tee time 4 days later.
Southern Oaks Review
Course was in great shape. The greens rolled true and the fairways were good in most places. There was some hard pan in some places but I wouldn’t give the course a bad review as that’s typical in Texas. There were some sand traps that appeared to need maintenance but again, not bad overall. It’s a very enjoyable course to play and the pro shop staff is great! Kudos on the practice facility, especially their chipping green and practice sand traps Also, concessions is right next door to the driving range which is a huge plus. $15 for large bucket is competitive with prices at other golf courses. Highly recommend Southern Oaks.
