Hmmmm.
The course layout and amenities were good and I enjoyed the round. The greens were in pretty rough shape.
Fun Course to Play
I really like this course. Normally this is a 5* golf outing but the current conditions for some of the greens are a bit rough (bare patches on greens). Pace of play was a bit slow at about 4.5 hrs mid week. Overall a really enjoyable weekend. I would definitely recommend this course to others
Still some rough spots on greens
The course was good but some greens still had some rough spots, no grass
Also don’t know why the white tees were so far back on 17, 235 yards for a par 3 is too far for higher handicaps
Could be better
Grens had bare spots and were slow even for summer.
Don't go after it rains
Due to recent terrential downpour there were some cart path navigation issues made worse due to the strict auto shutdown of the electric carts if one dares stray 5 feet from approved path. Layout is confusing.
Nice
Nice coarse. No complaints about it. To many dumb kids driving all over the place leaving trash and just being dumb. Got my cart hit twice by kids hitting into me. Hit onto 18 and there were 20 or so range balls on the green 100 plus on the apron.
Southern Oaks
This is a beautiful course with lots of trees. The fairways were in great shape. Some of the greens were a little bare but with the summer coming up, they’ll probably get in shape. It’s challenging for because it’s a very long course, but worth the money. I appreciate that they lower the price in the evening so people like me can play.
Needs improvement
Greens are super slow! Top dressed , no sand in bunkers, large patches of missing fairway grass. With all the rain one would ask why the course is in such bad shape ? I would rather pay a bit extra somewhere else…
Worst I’ve seen it.
Greens were terrible. Fairways still patchy from ice of 2021. But some sod, fix your greens. Was a great track now a bad muni.
Poor at best.
Greens were like putting through ground under repair.
Hard tack fairways.
Waited 10-15 minutes on every hole.
Paid for 18. Had to leave after 9.
Greens not good
The course it’s self is in decent condition however the greens are about a 3 out of 10. Lot of bare spots & very bumpy. Also we noticed they’ve done away with the gold Tees that played around 5800 yds. The shortest tees are the Ladies around 5400 yds that means you have a lot of players playing from 6300 yds that have no business playing that kind of distance. Look @ the distance 75% of amateur players can’t hit a 7 Iron over 150 yds that means they shouldn’t play over 6000yds. This will only slow down play!!!
