Southern Oaks Golf & Tennis Club

I haven’t been out here in years. Been a long time since I’ve played a course in that good of condition. Staff was very friendly. I’ll be out here more often in the future!

We had tricky pin placements on several greens and all still had decent scorers.

Southern Oaks is a great course and a great value. Playing conditions were good, greens are in good shape - roll well, etc.

This is such a good golf course to play. With a new club house and pro shop. The greens are in excellent conditions. If any one is looking for a good golf course to play in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this is the one. Moderate price and very playable.

Greems are very good Tee boxes are good overall. Fairways could use some work, very dry in some areas and extremely wet in others. Tee off time was 10:30 a.m. I have played this course many times and overall it is in good shape. Every time i play here it is the same story, foursome or fivesome acting like they own the course and play extremely slow and will not let anyone play through. Big gaps between holes being played and it gets frustrating. I play during the week to avoid these type of situations but no avoiding it here unfortunately. Otherwise i would play here more often!

First time at this course but not the last. Booked through GolfNow app for $37.for an 11am tee time the night before. The course is excellent for the average golfer and quite good for new golfers. Open fairways, good greens, and lots of sand bunkers. Very little water to contend with. The clubhouse is nice with a small snack counter, free ice and water. All the staff I dealt with were pleasant and friendly. I'd give a 4 1/2 star rating but that's not an option. There are some bare patches that may have been grassy earlier in the season. Having 4 tee boxes will make this course challenging enough for any golfer and reasonably priced for any golf lover.

It’s a fun track . Totally playable , fairways were in decent shape , greens are good and the speed was consistent, recovering well from the last verticillium. However , several areas on the course are showing signs of ground maintenance issues. Just typical thinning of growth , or unwanted infringements and such. Nothing time and and the right products couldn’t cure.

I will definitely play here again .

Greens were very good and smooth

We waited just 2 minutes at the 1st tee for the people we were paired up with. They did not show. We teed off on #1 on time & just missed the fairway. The Marshal came out right away and pushed us saying we don't have time to look for balls, On the next hole we were insight of the group ahead of us. 2 holes later we were stopped by a 10-12 minute bottle neck. The course played that way for the rest of the day; steady, by jerks. Tee times need to be adjusted to account for the bottle necks. I did find a couple sand bunkers during my round. They were not raked. We saw several people leave without completing their play. We left at hole 15, after seeing another bottle neck.

The course was in good shape other than too much watering around the greene and the restaurant was not open and for someone playing 2 rounds of golf you would think for the price they would make available food and not chips. Over all I enjoyed the round.

Wish they would out the longer tees in would make this course so much more interesting.. staff is great and course is good shape...

Love this challenging course. It was in great shape, even in the later dry summer.
