VERY NICE!!!
Very playable course, first time playing there and it was all there right in front of you, no hidden areas of trouble,. Greens, fairways in very nice shape, rolling terrain, but very friendly fairways, hard to get into trouble offthe. Very enjoyable experience. It's a course you can play for the first time and shoot a good score, very playable course for midhandicapper. Play it you won't be dissapointed..

Really nice course and club
What jumps out first is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of everyone. From the pro shop to food service and marshals for the golf course. Course was in good shape and was challenging but not to the point of being overly difficult. Had a great time and will be returning
Played 36
Good course far drive from Dallas. Played 36 holes from 1150-815 . Had a good time one slow group held us up on the first 18 played in 4 hours 20 mins. Greens are nice little hard bunkers are great fairways are nice just a little dry
Southern Oaks Burleson - Awesome!
I am not a member but I play Southern Oaks at least 2 times a week. Nearly every time I play another course I wish I was back playing at Southern Oaks. The course is in excellent shape and always is! The staff there is exceptional. For example I was fitted there on Wednesday for a new driver and irons. They irons had to be ordered and were to arrive by next Thursday. Well they arrived today, while I was already there playing and they brought them out to me while I was on #15, how cool is that, what customer service!!!
I hate to brag too much because selfishly I don't want everyone and there brother showing up to play there, but they deserve the traffic because its a great place to play!
Great golfing experience
This was the first time playing this course in a couple of years. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were all in great shape considering the hot summer we are experiencing. Staff was friendly and restaurant/bar area was very nice.
Nice shape
grass is now back to lush and greens are good. Not as fast as before, but almost back to previous shape before winter
Better than I have remembered!
It has been several years since I had played Southern Oaks. Me and a group of friends took a chance and played it yesterday. I was better than I remembered. The course was in great shape and the greens rolled perfectly. We decided that we will be back in the very near future. Pro staff was very friendly and the on course assistants were friendly and helpful. Thanks SO for a great day spent with great buddies!
Great first time
Played a match there with buddies. It was the first time on the course for 3 of us. We enjoyed it very much. The course is well designed and challenging, but very fair. It was in really good shape for this time and the greens were excellent. We can't imagine there being a more friendly or cooperative staff at a course anywhere. There was a group of locals behind us that we offered multiple times to let play through, but they told us not to rush and enjoy our round. All in all, Southern Oak was a pleasant experience and we plan to return in the spring.

Really enjoy the layout and challenges this course offers,really fun to play.

You'll enjoy the coarse layout, as it weaves in and out of this wooded property. It's challenging but fair, with wide fairways with each hole secluded. You may hear turkeys and see an occasional bobcat or coyote. I like playing here because it's not out of the way. The pro shop is fully stocked and the restraunt/bar is high end. Will gladly play here anytime.
very poor maintenance
There was a part of construction in front of first tee.
I had two group of 6 people ahead and behind.
The rough area was so out of control and it showed no maintenance in those area for a long time.
I would not go back there or recommend it to anybody.

Yes, we are expanding our facilities, by adding 11 tennis courts and pro shop, so unfortunately, that construction has occurred behind hole #1. The great news is, those facilities should be done and open in a few shorts weeks. We appreciate your patience during our construction. As we have in the past, we continue to made tremendous improvements to our facilities (new bunkers, amenities and services offered), and are hoping our guests continue to enjoy them for years to come.
Great course with great bunkers. The course has improved a lot in the last few years and is one of my favorites in the DFW for variety and challenge.
Needs Real Restrooms
Southern Oaks is one of my "go-to" courses and I always enjoy going there, however, if they are going to demand top green fees, the on course port-o-lets have to be replaced with real restrooms.
