About
Named after the bordering lake that the course overlooks, Lakeside Golf Club takes full advantage of the natural landscape of rolling hills and live oaks. Water comes into play on nearly every hole on the course. Streams and dry creek beds dot the course, creating challenges on several holes. The golf course also features undulating greens and narrow landing areas. Designed to provide a formidable test for any golfer, Lakeside Golf Club demands accuracy in addition to careful strategy. One of the most notable difficult holes on the golf course is the par-5 12th, which requires an approach shot over water to a well bunkered green.

The greens and fairway were in bad shape. (not enough water) sometimes the next tee was a long way from the green with no sign to point you in the right direction. Do not try to walk this course. The staff were excellent and the club house was nice. I think they need more rain here.
Good day at the course
Course was not in the best shape, iv'e seen it in better shape ! but they are working on getting it back up to par. for the money with the hot deal on golf now it is a good course to play and get in some practice !!!
I always enjoy playing this course its convenient for me

Take a hammer to drive your tee into the ground. Take a practice mat to hit off of because there is no fairway grass. Some of the greens are in better shape than the worst ones that I have played. Overall there is only one course that is worse in Central Texas
A Day At Lakeside
The grass needs to be cut on the fairways and around the greens.

Unfortunately the course is in rough shape. Needs cutting, weeds taking over, greens have deteriorated

Fairways and greens have been greatly improved. Impressed by the staff's friendliness. The money is worth. Overall, it's a good experience and I will recommend to others.

Greens run fast - but prettty course!
Scenery is beautiful! Course isn't in the best of shape but it was fun! It needs some attention for sure.

For the price I can't complain.
The course is a good value for your money, but at the same time you are getting what you're paying for. I will enfasize that it was worth the drive and I was happy at the end of the day. I would just ask that you don't bring your "great expectations" with you, and just "grab a Snickers" when it comes to minor concerns. You defiantly "can't deny the view" of the beautiful lake.

Good Overall Value
Let's get real: if you're using Golf Now, it's because you're seeking value. You might be able to get onto a really nice course for +/-$50 at times, but if you're just looking to get in a decent round without breaking the bank, Canyon Lake will get you there.
It's not in as bad a shape as prior reviewers have said.
-Greens were slow today (lots of recent rain), but mostly in pretty good shape.
-Fairways weren't pristine bermuda in all places, but they were certainly playable.
-Fast pace of play.
Bottom line: if you wanna play a cheap round of golf, you'll have a hard time finding anything better at this price point nearby.

Great value with great views
All in all, a very fun experience for veterans and amateurs as well. Challenging fairways, terrific greens and a wonderful backdrop of Canyon Lake. For the value, you cannot beat it. Go play!!

What it could be
Lakeside is 10 minutes from my house and I would love to get a membership, but the cost in comparison to the course conditions keeps me from pulling the trigger. It's a decent layout and beautiful surroundings, but fairways, bunkers, cart paths are sub-par. It's a good deal on GN or at a discounted rate, but not for the full price. Would be great with some mor e TLC.

Greens were nice, but ...
This is an OK course if you want to play cheap golf. The greens were nice, however there was many places on the course where they had water leaks which caused me to drop because of casual water. This is OK in the fairway, but near the greens the ball would plug, and try chipping out of a marsh.
The tee boxes weren't level. If you wanted you feet to be even with the ball, then you had to move back more than 2 club lengths. This is an easy fix. Overall I will be back to play cheap golf because the greens were nice.
