About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.

Fun course - SLOW play
Fun course design except 2 goofy holes: #10 and #18. Clubhouse down due to flooding from Feb freeze event.
Course in pretty good shape except bunkers -- need to be re-built and new sand. Awful.
All that could be overlooked except our pace of play was 4:50. There was a Marshall on the course, but there was one group that was holding everyone up -- 4 extremely bad golfers.
Cluster F###
Showed up for our 7am tee time. Course had double booked a 40 person tournament with groups of 5 on top of our time. It was a agonizing 5.5 hours after a 30 minute delayed start. Pathetic & embarrassing.

As good as it gets in DFW right now!
Course is in fantastic shape minus a few areas of flooding. Given the freeze this winter followed by the recent torrential rain, this is about as good as it gets for a public track in DFW right now. Greens were above average.
Staff was great, but not having water coolers or water bottles available on the course is absolutely ridiculous on 100° days.

Well Cared for Shot makers Course
Course is well cared for and greens run true. You'll fair better if you can shape your shot or be consistent down the middle. Played from the tips because it's a shorter course but the challenge is real.

Crashing and burning.
This course has been on a rapid decline in quality in the past few months. I’ve golfed here for years and always loved it, I would hate nothing more than to see it crash and burn. There is no water on the course except for small $2 bottles, hole 2 has been flooded with sewage water for weeks with no sign of being fixed, and any comments or concerns are brushed off to the point where the new manager will walk away mid conversation. I’m hoping my input will be put to good use here, considering it hasn’t been in person.

Good job to the groundskeeper
The course was in remarkably good shape today considering the torrential downpour the night before. The greens were really fast and rolled smooth. Fun layout and friendly staff too. The pace of play was slow but with carts on the paths only I guess that’s to be expected.

Not worth it!
No Marshall at all. 25 minutes delay from scheduled tee time. Group of 7 were allowed to play together. After complaints of severe slow play, we had to beg for a rain check. 5 holes took hour and 30 minutes. Rain check was written for only Saturday/Sunday after 11:00 AM. Asian Asst. Pro was rude and tried to make excuses because it were his friends in the group of 7.

Coyote Ridge
Clubhouse was closed and flooded. C ourselves had large water puddles in fairway. Staff was great and once clubhouse is repaired and the course dries it will be great.

Memorial Day play
I posted a review yesterday about how our play was cancelled on hole 6 on a rainy Memorial Day and no recourse related to refund was available. Was contacted by Coyote Ridge today who were willing to refund our money. I appreciate their willingness to make the situation right and would welcome the opportunity to play at the course in the future since it was a beautiful course (although there was quite a bit of standing water due in fairways due to heavy rain, which I don’t think would be a problem in normal summer Texas weather). Unfortunately, looks like Golfnow does not allow a person to edit their previous rating, so please consider this as an updated, review.

Rain cancellation
We booked and played on an extremely rainy Memorial Day. Kept waiting for course to cancel so we could get our money back-at tee off time it was dry so we started. At hole 6, course said we had to return b/c of rain/lightening. No money back/rain check available either through course or Golfnow. Disappointing

Played right after a torrential downpour
Great course, friendly staff. Nice course and nice carts! GPS on cart is a blessing AND a curse. It shows you distances to the hole, etc but it also relays your location to the course.. we played after a DOWNPOUR that had literally flooded the tunnels between 2 and 3 and 9 and 10. We had to "make our own way" to the #3 tee box. The cart actually said that we had left the course and locked the cart down. The wonderful staff was able to make it where we could keep going and we played the full 18 holes! The ONLY downside is that they are having to rebuild the entire clubhouse right now due to broken pipes from the February Freeze. Great course, we will be back!
