Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

This course is fun for beginners to pros
This course had fast greens today and fairways are wide open. I recommend this course (Coyote Ridge) to anyone wanting to have a good day on a nice course.
An outstanding layout
From the time I pulled into the parking lot I could not stop raving about how gorgeous this course was.. Each hole has its challenges, but it’s when you hit the greens is when the true test begins.. They are fast and mean.. If you miss the greens don’t worry there are plenty of bunkers to catch your shot. This will not be the last time I play this wonderful layout and I will be bringing plenty re enforcements with me next time... Thx to all the staff for a wonderful experience. They say the first impression is a lasting one and this course will always be a favorite...!!!
So slow!
9:10 tee time didn't start until 9:15. Total time was 4 hours and 50 minutes without stopping at the turn. One the 10 hole a mysterious foursome appeared in front of us on the teebox. When we saw the Marshall on the 11th hole we asked why/how the group in front of us appeared for the first time on the 10th tee box he said, "you snooze, you lose." I explained we hadn't stopped at the turn and he said, "we are dealing with a slow group up ahead."
I probably play here twice a month and I always enjoy myself. Bar staff and cart girls are the best. Course condition is great too. But I am going to seriously reconsider playing here as often due to the lack of a starter on the 1st (and 10th) tee boxes. I love golf but I love my Saturdays too and unnecessary slow play is the worst. Considering the recently increased green fees, the attention towards timeliness is mandatory.
Great Day
Course was almost perfect. The rain the day before kept the greens soft. Little more expensive than most munys but worth the extra few $$. Great restaurant! Be back soon.
Way better than expected
I must say I was a little worried when I drove past a landfill to get to the house. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised by this course. Staff was friendly. The clubhouse was spectacular. Once we started playing, I found more and more reasons to love this course. The course was in superb condition from tee to green. We played at a quick pace and were never slowed down by anyone. I will definitely play here again.
Well maintained course
Course was great. Range could use more attention though
Beautiful Course!
We really enjoyed are golfing experience at your fine course! When we are back in town we will definitely be back! Thanks
Great course
Enjoyed this course a lot. Staff took great care of us, course was in great shape. Somewhat tough but not ridiculous. The food was great and the off course amenities had a country club feel. Drink prices were a little high.
A very well kept course
Course is one of the better kept tracts in the area. Staff is friendly. Its challenging but good for the average golfer. Pace of play can be occasionally been an issue
Etiquette
This is a challenging course particularly on the back nine where you need to know the best places to hit. It is unforgiving on some holes if you miss the line. The course is in good condition but needs more marshalling. Players cut in front of us on the back nine and the group behind us drove into us twice when we were waiting for the group in front to clear. This is the first time we have experienced poor etiquette on Dallas courses. It was a shame because it let the course down
47 degrees at tee off doesn't help!
Cold day but played anyway. Pace kind of slow on back nine...didn't see rangers. Course was fair to average condition. Nice lay-out. May return if in area. My deal was a hot deal. Would not pay the $70 on the week ends...NO WAY!
Didn't get full experience
Front 9 was closed but played the back 9 twice on an early Monday morning and there was no one out there. A little bit tight but not taunting. Fairways were nice and firm.Greens played true. Some tough pin placements made for a good challenge on approach shots. Played blues (3200) and didn't need the driver. Good course, great staff.
Perfect for par + - 15
Really fun course. A bit busy but I like to play slower or at my own pace. Greens are fast. Lots of unique challenges and characteristics to this course. Play it safe let your drives roll down your fairway or hit it high so it sticks. Have fun. I’ll be back soon.
Nice track
First time playing here. Course was in great shape. Greens were quick which I generally like but due to the winds today (25 mph) I thought some of the pins were in location that were not good with the winds. Front nine is nice and wide with the back more narrow and require more irons off the tees for best placement and avoiding hazards. I will definitely be back on my next trip to the area.
